Predictions with a twist. This if kind of like 909, but more unsettling, and is different enough, IMO.

There was something similar to this in chat, and at first I thought it would be the idea proposed. However, the idea is completely different, but there are similar sections. Was this inspired by the 4 mile long arm?

Finally, there is no fucking way that the Foundation would build a farmhouse around this thing. They would build an entire installation around the thing, fully staffed and guarded at all times. If the GOC, Serpent's Hand, Chaos Insurrection, etc. etc. got wind of this, they would try to steal it, and the Foundation would have to guard it.

How could they steal it? It has an infinitely long phone cable that is connecting it to who knows where? Maybe they could cut the cord, but there's no guarantee that it would still function.

As in, "wow, those Foundation guys only built a farmhouse around this thing? It'll be easy as fuck to invade." What I'm saying is, even though it looks like a farmhouse, there's only so much you can do with something that just looks like a farmhouse. I would expect the Foundation to just clear out everything in a ten mile radius and build a fucking fortress, because this thing is really really really valuable.

When I started, I had the "This is weird like UVB-76, but seems a little helpful."

Got halfway through, found the creep.

Then hit the end, and realised just how distressing to the standard staff of the Foundation this kind of thing would be. It's essentially preying on intelligent people.

Strikes a chord, I like this one.

Started out reading a bit same-y, but the implications for those required to study it are pretty keen. The whole thing's in serious need of tone and grammar cleanup, though. Phrases like "power chord" and "for roughly the most part" make it hard to take seriously.

Well, I did post it a few times in chat, Chubert, but I actually typed the thing up before I started posting in the chat.
'Thought it might be a bit unclear as to whether or not it actually was a farmhouse interior. Is this better?
Not quite sure how to fix the tone, though.

Never use "270" or "the SCP." Always refer to it as SCP-270. It is a power cord, not a power chord, as tombones pointed out.

…and the fact that neither of you, after noticing the error, edited the page and fixed it is far more annoying to me than the error itself.

I would agree with not using "the SCP" but I've used just the numbers to refer to an object in an article before.
