Three words sum this up:
"FOR THE EMMPERORRRRRRRRRRR!!!"
Xenos and heretics everywhere.

I was thinking those three words would be Global Occult Coalition.
EDIT: Nevermind I fail at linking things.
But this extremely narmy.
What about my member page is so offensive that it gets a -2 rating? Most pages, I notice, go under the radar with no ratings or discussion.
I think if you get rid of his ability to "miraculously" survive hopeless situations, and maybe edit or get rid of the AWOL letter, then people wouldn't downvote.
don't sweat it son, downvotes on author pages mean nothing.

Voting against deletion. I'm okay with people doing what they want with their author pages, as long as they still have enough pages on the wiki proper to qualify them for having one. I don't think author pages should be subject to deletion otherwise.
You'll probably never read this, but if you do, I want you to know that your depiction is so wrong and full of errors in so many ways that it physically burns me.

During his time with the Foundation, MacLean became known for surviving missions that killed most or all of his team members, and for his tendency to shoot to kill when startled.
I like this bit. Based on your definition of startled ,it either boils down to "and is also known to take his dick out of his boxers when pissing" or him being a homicidal nutcase.
There's a few different ways you can take that. Either he was a yellow bastard that cut and run anytime something went down, deliberately sabotaged operations, or just sent people into the meat grinder. Any of them completely invalidate someone as being qualified to lead any sort of unit.

It's impossible to survive bad situations in a fictional setting.
The more you know.
There's a fine line between being a notorious survivor, and the fucker who sees everyone assigned to him buried in record time.
Heh, that, too.
We should have it somewhere:
The Foundation doesn't need commanders able to miraculously survive fubar situations, it needs ones who don't make them happen in the first place.
I made this character page two years ago, after reading over every single SCP article and tale in the whole archives. A trend I noticed in the stories from that time is that any story that didn't involve heroic badassery inevitably involved a lot of pointless deaths for low-level researchers and soldiers who lacked the seniority to be given a name. Many of these deaths seemed to be easily avoidable, caused by stupidity or insanity on the part of whoever happened to be calling the shots. When I wrote MacLean, I tried to imagine what kind of non-sociopathic person would be able to succeed, let alone survive, after going on bad op after bad op like that.
The answer I came up with was: "A very lucky, but increasingly embittered and unstable guy with a hair-trigger violent streak, who will probably quit as soon as he can find an opportunity to run." MacLean's not really a leader type; he merely lived long enough to get promoted. If you follow MacLean in the Xenophobia series, you'll see a guy who does, in fact, have a tendency to bolt or shoot wildly when things get dangerous and has personally killed at least two teammates. And then he deserted. Maybe he's a bit of an author avatar, but he's not a role model.
I suppose I could retool him now, but I don't know what purpose that would serve.
You could at the very least do some research about the sort of character you're depicting so that it's not an embarrassment to look at.

Eh…cliché of every action movie protagonist EVER.
Imagine that I have a stupid movie narrating voice:
This summer…
A soldier who thought he was fighting evil, finds out his whole life is a lie…
Adam Sandler stars in…
Mean Maclean Killing Machine.
I just honest to god spat ginger ale.

Commissioner: "Damn it, MacLean! This time you've gone too far! The Mayor's gonna have my ass for this! You're a loose cannon that doesn't play by the rules!"

Partner: [under his breath] "…Just two more weeks until retirement."
Morgan Freeman as Partner: "I'm getting too old for this shit"
Gentlemen, we have a movie to make.
I suppose I should give him a blatant use of product placement, like:
"nothing beats kicking SCP-682's butt back into containment."
*sips a Capri-Sun*
"…I don't play by anyone's rules but my own. I have no rules."
?????
BOX OFFICE PROFIT.
You're thinking way too small I picture tie-ins! 447 mints official able temporary tattoos 882 alarmclocks the possibilities are endless!
Maclean will become SCP foundation's really shit Duke Nukem.
"MACLEAN!!!SCP-173 has escaped and has planned to destroy the world with a nuclear missile."
"I don't take orders from anybody, but I'll shoot him without thinking it through because I'm a professional. And then I'll score with that one doctor who is 19 with big tits whom I've loved all my life."

Denied, he's still got the three requisite SCPs.

Again? Isn't this the definition of insanity?
Stop posting in staff posts. You've been told this half a dozen times.
Military Consultant, SCP Wiki
I've seen others do it without anyone having an issue with it after they made it clear that their post wasn't a staff post. About 8-9 times already if my memory isn't screwing up.
You're not other people. Other peoples' actions do not justify yours, one way or another. You've been told.

Yep!

Nope!

Second. Malcolm, if you still want an author page, feel free to make one that doesn't suck.
if your reading this your gay
Seconding BRIGHT, he has the requisite SCPs and tales.
Thirding against deletion.
As long as I've been here I've understood that author pages only require three or more well-received articles. If someone wants to fill them up with stupid shit (as has happened here) it's their call.
I know there's nothing specifically stating that in a guide or anything but just look at Ghost's comment above (who is to this day a moderator, if an absentee one):
don't sweat it son, downvotes on author pages mean nothing.
If we go and decide something different is the standard, then sure, fine, but that doesn't seem to have happened, and therefore this is my vote. Doesn't seem fair to change standards midstream without at least some kind of discussion and announcement or blah blah whatever.
