This is a tricky proposition here. You've set yourself up so that describing the SCP will unleash it's power; unfortunately, that means you haven't told us very much about it. While you might be able to get away with not going into detail about the cathedral itself, I think you should add some more about the effects it has on people.

Maybe…an experiment log? I'm tapped out on ideas for more in the Containment procedures. Is the idea a solid one at least you think?

I think it's solid. We've got a few evil buildings already, but this one is distinct enough that I don't think that's a problem. I do not think an experiment log would do much (it causes depression and suicide. What else do you need to know?), and you're set for containment procedures… Maybe you could add a history section. After all, this cathedral probably figures prominently in local folklore if there's something "special" about it. It's your call, though.

Maybe instead of the obscured photo, use a map of it's location? Since it's a landmark anyway.

On the other hand, the memetic lure seems too strong for its actual effect. Spreading from descriptions was cool for 370 because it was super-dangerous, you didn't need to be near it anyway, but it was still small enough to theoretically contain. I'm not convinced this gains anything from affecting people through descriptions, or even photos. In fact, I'd go with just proximity: It's a big tourist attraction anyway, and it would still affect the guards.

I think you're right Ashton, about the map, and the proximity thing. I'm considering just putting this scp back in my sandbox for a while until I've got it just right. Also now, I want to know what 370 is.

EDIT: Oh man, The Key (370) is my favorite memetic scp. I loved that one when I first read it.
