With thanks to Aelanna for helping with the Special Containment Procedures and MrUnimport for some other stuff.
Damn these Not Centipedes!
They're almost as bad as Human Centipedes!
I WILL KILL THE NEXT MOTHERFUCKER WHO SAYS ANYTHING ABOUT HUMAN CENTIPEDES.
GRRRRNRRRRHRG.
While some of the logs and affects seem kind of disjointed, and I'm not always sure what's going on, this is pretty good.
Related, I -HATE- millipedes. :p
Okay, this is seriously good stuff! A photosensitive were-centipede that reproduces insanely fast. All the creep one could want. Plus, I like how they took over the bodies of the victims before they killed them.
I was going to suggest some sort of sting turning the victim into a hybrid or another instance, but you got ahead of me.
Very good, upvoted!
Good article. Lots of creep and horror and dnw, although I agree with Sophia Light that it gets a little disjointed once it gets into the logs. But I do have significant issue with one passage: "(darkness defined as: the level of light one would normally encounter outside, at night, away from any open light sources)." Feels like it's trying too hard to be "These things could be anywhere!" creepy.
Actually, that's mostly there to prevent the "How dark is darkness?" questions.
I'd replace that with a scientific measurement, even if the actual number is redacted. The standard unit for the intensity of a light source is candelas, IIRC, but I'm not sure whether there's a more appropriate unit for this circumstance.
So would darkness be negative candelas? :|
Gonna look that up.
Edit: Actually, I think I could pretty much go with "0 candelas".
0 Candelas probably wouldn't work. Unless I'm wildly off the mark, that means they would only transform/whatever when there was absolutely zero light. This would be hard to encounter, as even at night there are lightsources. Just not as many as daytime.
tl;dr you probably wouldn't encounter 0 candelas in a natural environment, so you might want to change it to something else.
WELL IT IS LUX NOW.
WHICH IS A FINE MEASUREMENT SYSTEM THANK YOU WIKIPEDIA
You, sir, are a master of the body horror. Also a fan of the weirdness implied by the logs. What the hell.
It helps if you're a little mad.
Now that we know fire works against them, should we reclassify them as Euclid?
I think this is relevant.
<hatbot> typheus eats 363
That is all.
Damn it, Typheus. You know how high the cholesterol count in these things are, don't you!? You're not treating your obesity like you promised!
