So while I wait I'll cull feedback from the rest of the community.

Basically, it is a teleporter that transmits stuff with radio(or other electromagnetic) waves. It comes in two parts, the sender and receiver. Outside interference from other waves can lead to interesting results.

I… While I may be alone here, I like the idea of a malfunctioning teleporter. However, if you're going into the area of "oh no crazy deity-entity!" I'd try to build that up beforehand. Or just remove it and make the main part that it just doesn't work.

The reference to the Dark Tower can be negotiable. I was more trying to say that, if the teleporter is messed with you can get thrown into another world.

Oh, yeah, if it's a reference, just get it out of there. :p I guess you can do that, but I would play it up more- just the fact that it's a teleporter and can be screwed up in a variety of ways.
Other notes- Counter-intuitively to what I just said, don't call it a teleporter in the description- maybe just a device or something.
-See if you can tighten up the description just a bit. Like, the descriptions of the objects themselves.
-Elaborate on how it actually works- or even just say that they don't know how it works yet. Just stating that it uses electromagnetic waves with nothing else dismisses the "oh fuck how does it work" surprise-aspect.
