I have a very specific story in mind when writing this one, but on the other hand, the intend is to have it not rely too heavily on the stuff it references and able to stand alone without those. Being open to interpretation and all that. But proceed to spoilers if you do want to know :P
This contains SCP-2847 spoilers, or rather, based on one of the people mentioned in the skip.
To recap 2847, three people are notable:
- King Yu/禹王 - Previous king turned into flesh monster, sealed inside the lake.
- Gun/鲧 - Yu's father who sealed the lake and trapped his son.
- Boyi/伯益 - The one who built the machine, SCP-2847-3 to accompany Gun, his mentor
Chinese myth roots:
Boyi is a Xia scholar/official, also considered to have the ability to talk to birds.
What happens in the skip:
After the events in 2847, Boyi suffered mentally as his king turned into a monster and his mentor trapped forever with him. He built the machine to accompany his mentor but unable to face Gun himself, and blames himself for not being able to stop all this.
He retreated from society and his position, and live in mounatins alone. To find comfort and ease his loneliness, using anomalous tech or magic, he made it so that it seems that the birds are talking to him and are there to accompany him.
But either that his anomalous tech/magic backfired, blaming himself subconsciously, or he designed it with the intents to urge himself back up again, his fear and regrets manifest in the form of "the snakes' messages". But either way, he could not take it and ended up killing all the snakes he came across. Snakes became the embodiment of his negative emotions probably because they remind him of his people or his gods.
No equipment or artifacts were found dude to the events in SCP-2481. The reality wipe and erased most of Xia from existence also erased such traces here. The anomaly remained but specific mentions of names and such are erased as well.
