First jab at a manual-style document. I've made efforts to account for new members, by linking to all references so hopefully no inexperienced readers go "what the hell is that?".

This is in no way meant to be a hub, or a canon for people to follow. It conflicts many headcanons of other users. It's my head - incorporating only my ideas - and it's up to you to accept it or not.

No, this is not supposed to be a guide.

It's something I enjoyed writing and I hope you enjoy it too.

If you want me to link your SCP/tale to this, just give me the link, tell me why and where to put it.

EDIT: (5th Sept. 2018) Massive re-write of 04 command, alert code system, lockdown classifications and ARIs.

EDIT EDIT: (8th Sept.) Re-organisation of categories and huge overhaul of aesthetics. Love to hear your opinions on whether it looks better/cleaner this way.

Updated the style to look a little cleaner and more like a document. Also more readable.

Anyone else like this or prefer the old one?

Call me a cynic, but I feel there's waaay to much love of series I in the references. I understand your attempt not to alienate the newer member/a good half of the community, but there are far better SCPs to references then those in series I. Of course, this is just my personal opinion. Besides that, I love everything about this. This style of article is my jam.

I have similar feelings towards this. I honestly feel that there could be more references to Series 2 and 3. But, then again, of monsters that kill you and want to break containment are alot more common and well known in Series 1 then the other 3. Still, a few less references to 682 might make the article better.

Other than that, I feel this does a pretty good deal of world building for what it is, and honestly it did influence parts of my headcannon a bit.

EDIT: would it be possible to put in a table of contents to make looking through parts of the article easier? Also, would this be more of an orientation or a tale?

I was trying to find some examples of more recent SCPs, but I'm not very familiar with Series 2. Could you suggest any?

Series III, but my SCP-2890 is not only good at escaping, it often triggers catastrophes (of the perfect storm or swiss cheese model failure variety) to do so.

For skips to consider for the bio-hazardous/infectious section, here are a few suggestion:

• SCP-2075
• SCP-1100
• SCP-2870

For "CERBERUS", I'd suggest SCP-1913 and SCP-1048.

SCP-2059 would probably qualify as a Large Scale Aggressor.

"…anomalous self-sustaining reactions capable of dramatically increasing in severity unless immediately countered."

SCP-2102 fits this somewhat.

I also suggest SCP-1121 and SCP-2381¹ if you want some more bacteria/contagious SCPs.

Does this entertain me? No, it's too dense and lacks a narrative structure. You could address that by changing it to an orientation tale.

Is it logical in-universe? Not really. It starts as how to handle a lockdown, then veers off into a list of MTFs, while mentioning some material the foundation doesn't trust recruits with². You could address this by separating it into two works: A new employee's guide to Lockdowns, and a senior review of active MTFs.

Is it helpful to new readers of the wiki? Maybe. A little info on a lot of subjects would not interest me as a new reader.

Going to second Ace here on this one, my initital concerns about this being much too close to Series I in content and nature have been somewhat rectified in recent edits, but this still just drags on far too long without any real payoff or narrative.

I would have thought the payoff would be the information? It's not supposed to be a story if that's what you're wondering, so I can't see why there would even be much of a narrative.

I like it - I've been working on a similar kinda thing based on current Health & Safety procedures for hazardous items. I'll never finish the bugger, but it would look a lot like this, but from the opposite side - "this is what to do when it isn't going wrong."

I will happily support this and +1, but I hope very strongly that it doesn't become canon, or somehow a guide. I don't want to be fettered by someone elses imagination, but I can see you've already addressed those concerns in your posts above.

It's well written, but it's extremely dry and chock-full off buzzwords and such. I just can't enjoy reading something if there's not anything interesting to get into.

Wait, so if a breach is detected, and no off-site personnel respond, it takes a whole 12 minutes before even a light lockdown is activated?? I think that is ample time for a skip to escape.

I dislike the name changes of the ARIs. The originals sounder way cooler.

Hmmm. But that's not the point.

Many of the veterans suggested the change towards something more real, such as the colour-number codes used in many hospitals.

Idk. The old ones seemed too rule-of-cool to me, and I didn't like them because of it.
