Okay, I figured I'd give this a try. The notion of a "Aether-Ship" came to mind, and I worked on it to see if I could strike at least copper. <grin>
When I'm feeling ambitious, I'll see about adding another page of the Captain's Log.

I clarified the description, and added the airlock as well.
Removed the separate designations for the projectors, and added in the effects of vacuum over time. Vacuum welding would make study of the projectors difficult.
Hrm. Fun idea, but the description's confusing. The upper section has 12 masts arranged in a hexagon on the upper and lower sections? Huh? It might work better if the photo would load. (It doesn't, for me.)
No photo was included. Okay, lemme see if I can describe it more accurately here.
Imagine that the upper hull has two regular hexagons at the center of its top and bottom. From there, imagine spokes radiating from the center of the hexagon to the points of the hexagon. That's the configuration of the masts.
Clearer?
I can't really describe them as rings, because there is nothing connecting the ends of the masts to each other. But yeah, I suppose I ought to remove the reference for an image until I get one.
Go into more depth on how the masts warp space time. Just saying they violate current understanding doesn't mean anything.
That will be in supplementary documentation. The Foundation is treating this carefully, because they don't understand it. This is just the SCP article on what it is and how it's contained. There will be more as it develops.
I'm sorry, but this is way too steampunky for my taste. I don't like the idea of the Foundation having to deal with Jules Verne astrobathyspheres or interdimensional zeppelins or moon-cannons or da Vinci helicopter/airborne troops.
*ahem*
The idea of a spaceship working on a principle that doesn't exist is intriguing, but I think it'd be better served stripped of the Victorian-era design.
There are actually other factors that are the reason for this design. The inventor of the craft thought he was conforming to the known physics of the time, but the physics that he thought he'd been using were disproved and replaced by general relativity. Thus, the craft had to be constructed no later than the turn of the twentieth century. The craft does not run on steam at all, of course, but battery power.
The alternate name for this vessel is Aetheric Spacecraft, but I didn't want to hit people over the head with either Jules Verne or the Sons of Ether from Mage: the Ascension. I wanted something different.
Still adjusting the sights.
I actually like this one. I don't think it rubs the victorian aspect in your face, the way average steampunk does.
*Quietly sweeps the fact that Dr. Jack Bright first knew life as a Son of Ether under a rug.*

I had a character that defected from Iteration X to the Sons, so I know where you're coming from.
Of course I could have cribbed from E. E. "Doc" Smith, but I left my Lens in my other flight suit.
Okay, I'm done tinkering with the general article, I think. Anything I do at this point would downgrade the mystery.
However, I think there might be some stories to tell about the maiden flight of the Wings of Daedalus, so I'll be doing that in Foundation Tales.
Thanks, all, and I look forward to future feedback.
I wonder if 852-2 is too far gone for 210 to revive. His story would be very interesting.
I would actually disagree with Gattsune here, because I feel like this article ends on the perfect note, and nothing more needs to be done with it. Truthfully, it's one of my favorites.
if your reading this your gay
It just ends before it could deliver any sort of sting or hook!
There's no indication as to whether the thing and its vehicle are human.
There's no indication as to whether the thing and its vehicle are from this time/space/universe.
It's basically written so casually as to be a police report, with the only anomaly being it happened on the moon where people now live and work and roam about.
Well… no, it really does say that the pilot was a human, and there is no indication that the vehicle isn't from our time/space/universe so it should be presumed that it in fact is.
And the hook would be that something killed him leaving absolutely no clue except a body and a seemingly unreal device, and we have absolutely no idea who, how or why.
