Both should be public domain, unless I'm misintepreting something.
There's a "Mediterranean Ocean" that should likely be a sea.
Otherwise… This is the Soul Extractor for whales. Simple but fascinating in its implications.
I wish this had a greater focus on what this entity does to the souls but I can't deny that it got a reaction out of me. I kind of wanted to downvote because as it reads it feels like a thing what kills you whales but I feel like I can get behind this as something the Foundation is still attempting to study/documentation for a level 1 researcher.
I still would like to see just a bit more, just a hint, of what it's doing with these souls but I enjoyed reading it as-is. +1
Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you!
Seriously, this is the first SCP I've read in a while that doesn't include several exploration logs, interviews, rewrites and glitches. THANK YOU FOR A CONCISE ARTICLE.
Have you taken a look at the entries in the 2015 Short Works Contest?
A good, unexpectedly short SCP that would make you think it'd have like a ton of exploration logs and agent com transcripts, but instead just leaves you out with a good wtf feeling. Kinda like that 'Wendy's demon flesh selling' SCP: Short but sweep, not overt horror or anything outright, it's you yourself instead that's forced to decide if that was really the case. (+1)
Feels like a good 'ol early Series I SCP article with the "short and sweet" feel. Interesting concept, good read.
This is really great, and the naming of the ship was top-notch. +1
