So I've spent way too long writing this up as a draft (and it has also been 4 months since my last article holy crap), so today I finally caved in and posted it. Hope you guys like it! If not, be sure to tell me why so I can potentially improve it.

I've watched this develop over quite awhile, and it's only gotten better as you've worked on it. This will get overshadowed by the 3000 contest, and that's a shame for such a good SCP.

Still reading, but use the word "random" less - "irregular" would work better

I think you got to a good place with the description of reality degradation. It's something sensible when you look at the object. I agree that the imagery is nice. I don't think it's really amazing but it expands an idea and isn't just covering old ground. That's enough for me. +1

It definitely reads a lot better since the draft. This is also one of the few instances of reality bending that actually seems like what I picture in my head when I hear that phrase.

There was a lot of junk I had to cut out and shorten in this draft before posting, so it is good to know that it works this way.

Interesting and well written. My only suggestion is maybe leave out the explanation of how they consume ambient reality; it feels like it's explaining a bit TOO much and is a harder for me to suspend disbelief.

The reason I chose to explain it was that some of the crit I was getting wanted me to solidify the eating process more (just saying that they ate reality was vague and wasn't great in the way of imagery). Best thing I could come up with is some mysterious particle, which is an idea I do want to expand on more with a Foundation investigation (and research paper). I'm also hoping that the idea may make Humes less of a hand-wavey explanation for reality bending, which is something I know some people have an issue with.

I was thinking about upvoting this at first, but then I got to the "accidents" and addenda. I disliked the repetition in the "accidents" and was left jarred by the religious language of the addenda (I particularly dislike mythological tales written in religious language, specially if they constantly mention deities and groups and fantastical things). The "animals that eat reality" are neat by themselves, but everything else is lackluster. Downvoted.
