And so, the great game begins…

Yes folks, it is here, the SCP-3000 contest! The theme this time around is HORROR! We want you to scare us!

This contest is being hosted by the SCP Wiki Administration as a whole, but I will be the primary point of contact for any questions, concerns, or what-have-you.

Thanks to the many people who helped vet the rules and conditions here, and double thanks to Cyan for making the page header.

To Enter: Post your entry to the site with the url '3000contest<yourusername>' with your site user name in place of <yourusername.> For example, if a user named TroyL were to post an entry it would have the url 3000contesttroyl. This page must be posted by you.

So in your case you'll want 3000contestSeaBeaver.

I have concerns about the fact that the theme of this contest was widely known among certain people (mainly staff and friends of staff) over a year before it was announced. I know for a fact at least one person started working on an article for this before the contest was officially announced, and that seems like a pretty unfair advantage.

Well, it's something that there was broad consensus on from an early point and nobody offered a competing idea that could tread water. It was not codified in any formal form until very recently. If anyone has been extensively preparing based on believing it would be horror, that's pretty unsportsmanlike of them. I don't think there's anything wrong with early stage drafting based on a belief of what the contest theme might be, though.
