Just for your information, there's a reason why there's a "Preview" button at the bottom of your edit box. You can also look up existing articles to see what kind of syntax they use to generate specific effects.
That aside, there's a few sticky points:
1. The first sentence of the description is awkward, and doesn't flow very well.
2. A few places could use rewording; terms such as 'anathema' come across as being rather unscientific.
3. The article is suffering from quote cancer. A scientific document would avoid using terms that would require that much clarification.
