NOVEMBER 2016 INTROS - Writers!

Hello, prospective site writers! It's good to see you here!

First off, a couple standard things to keep in mind as you get started towards adding your voice to the Foundation universe:

• Definitely read the How to Write an SCP Guide and the pages in the Guide Hub that are relevant to your ideas!
• Make a sandbox page for your works in progress, reference notes, inspirational snippets, and more author things!
• Get familiar with our three Writing Help Forums:
  • General Advice: For all your questions about the writing process!
  • Ideas and Brainstorming: For asking about concepts that you're thinking of writing up!
  • Drafts and Critiques: For reviews of your finished pieces, to see what edits need to be made to your work to make it ready for the mainlist!

If you're not sure what to talk about here, you can take a look at our How to Write an Intro/Welcome thread for ideas.

Feel free to respond to other new members if you find that your writing interests and/or plans overlap. The SCP wiki is a collaborative writing community, after all! You might even see some of the longtime writers here drop by with comments now and then. :)

Sir B, introduction

Hello, great to be part of this wonderful place or hopefully soon to be part of this place.

This is a bit long, Don't feel that you need to read the first paragraph, me just being strange.

Well, I guess I should start with the reason I chose the name, Sir B. B was not considered a name and Dr/Mr B was taken. B is the inital of my first name, I thought it might add a bit of mistery and humour to my username. It also adds a little bit of pride. I am not sure why but B is a very intresting name to me, it's as simple as that. For some reason I like the name B.
The sort of idiot I am, writes a pharagraph about my name.

Well, I am a sort of imaginative person. I find an intrest in this website because of it's unique CP (Creepy Pasta/Copy and Paste) format. I enjoy reading them, my favorite so far being SCP-682. Athough I do like the real SCP-001 [DATA EXPUNGED]. Well, I see most people may have an idea for my humour and some other things by now. I am a rather silly person yet I can be serious. If You would like more feel free to ask a question.

Hey everyone!

After years of lurking, I've finally taken the plunge and made an account proper. I'm usually garbage at introductions, so I'll just list off some stuff.

I'm a writer (obviously), and I joined to finally get some SCP ideas out in the open. I usually hang out in #site-19 as "jarl". Of course, finally getting to + some of the skips I really like is a good bonus.

As for hobbies, I do some game development on the side as well as normal programming. I'm versed in most midrange IT knowledge, and I'm studying spaceflight engineering. As a side effect, I've also written my fair share of scientific reports, so if you need a second set of dry, black-and-white, Gearsy eyes, I'd be happy to help.

Hello. So, I was told that I need to make a short description of how I found this. Well, you guessed correct, I'm going to write a paragraph on it!

Anyways, I discovered this when I was watching Markiplier (I'm sure I spelt that wrong) play SCP CB. That got me thinking, 'This sounds interesting.' Then, I got on my computer and searched SCP. Next, I read a couple documents and have been doing that until now.

Unlike most Homo Sapinins I know, I have always had a passion for writing and reading. Today I decided to join and try to write an SCP or two. It might be a while but I will do my best. I know this is short but I'm quite tired zo expect more out of me than this post showed.

Hey look I finally found the passcode!

Well my name just popped into my head really, if it needs to be changed I will without question. I don't really have more of an explanation for it.

Well I'm a writer obviously and had one idea for an SCP stuck in my head for months before I found out this site could be joined and my ideas made official so I figured "Hey why not?"

I got a few hobbies here and there, I consider myself a very musical person and like to see arty things as well as videogames and creative writing which I have been doing for some time now. If anyone wants to get to know me better just ask! I'll be happy to answer!

Hello! I'm really excited to be apart of the SCP website now! I've been reading SCPs on and off since high-school, and haven't really given it much thought to become a member. But I'd really like to improve my writing abilities, and think this place looks like an excellent opportunity to do just that! I hope I can produce content that is entertaining and fun, and I look forward to learning as much as I can from people of experience and talent!

As for who I am, I'm just a college sophomore looking for ways to kill time and sharpen my prowess as a writer and story-teller, and this community looks fun, intelligent and welcoming!

I look forward to meeting some new friends, and make some great content!

Hi, how's life?

I'm AnimatedJF/Animated and I wanted to be a creative writer for this site on the first time I saw it. The stories and overall premise of this site is astounding to me and I've decided the now would be the best time to do that. I have a lot of things going on in my mind, and when I want to clear it, I write. Writing is such a relaxing hobby for me because it lets me be as creative as I want. I'm that "weird guy" that enjoys to be scared and to read creepypastas, so when I came across this site, I knew I had to be a part of it. Feel free to say hi whenever you see me. :D

So um… I'm putting this in the 'Writers' thread, but doing some actual writing is more of a possibility than a certainty. I mean, I enjoy writing, and at this time, I have an idea for an SCP, but for all I know it could be dumb or repetitive…

Aside from writing, I'm also an artist! I won't advertise myself here though. I still have a lot to learn. I enjoy both digital mediums and acrylic, and hope to use oils eventually.

My favorite SCPs are 085 (Cassy), 261 (the vending machine), 294 (the drink dispenser) and 999 (the orange slime monster that cures depression). I like the cute, safe ones and the sassy, goofy ones the most. I like the horror ones too, of course.

I hope I can make some good contributions!

Hi everyone!

My name is Alex and I only became a part of the SCP site a few days ago, even though I've been reading an exploring SCP for some years now. I absolutely love the concept of the SCP Foundation (plus my favourite game of all time is SCP: Containment Breach) and I've liked every single SCP I've read and found out about.
I like art, music and literature, I almost always brainstorm ideas for no reason in a daily basis and I think a lot. I also have this ability of learning useless facts that never come in handy in my life, not sure if that's positive or not.

So um, I guess I should write down the things I could offer to the site now:
I'm very good at sketching and drawing in general, but I don't own a drawing tablet so everything I draw is on A4 paper and scanned, edited sometimes as well.
As I wrote above, I brainstorm all sorts of things, so that will come in handy in finding the basic layouts of SCPs that I'll (hopefully) write.
I am able of creating matching atmospheres in whatever I write.
And that is all I think, so, I'm happy to finally be here with all of you.

Hello to the fellow writers, explorers, readers, and anyone else who might be reading this. You can call me Legendheart, obviously this not being my real name. I am a blooming writer/artist and I had heard of the SCP Foundation years ago while browsing the internet's "dark side" but wasn't very interested and didn't take much time to recognize the site.

I rediscovered the SCP Foundation through GemoDawn a few weeks ago once more, and now I am ready to embrace my creative side for another purpose. I recently have found myself in a state of creativity, and I am hoping that I can share my creations with everyone here to enjoy and connect with. I can't wait to read all of my fellow writers future SCPs and hope that you will all find interest in my own.

I always appreciate creepy and creative works. I was so surprise when I found out about this community.After countless sleepless night of consideration I finally decided to join.

Reading, drawing and writing are usually how I spend my time.

Hi all! I'm Seorabol. I love lots of articles on this site and I would like to get to know some of the awesome authors of them. Also looking to write some of my own to share with the world.
I found this site from Night Mind's awesome video about it and I soon found out that this is a massive creative writing project. It's probably one of the best I've ever seen. Especially the fact that so many people ask if this is real.

Hello, I've always enjoyed SCPs so I've now decided to be a part of the community. I'm hoping to start on my first SCP soon.

I enjoy making the weird and wonderful (and the terrifying) and specialize in digital art (digital painting , photo manipulation and 3D modeling/animation). So on top of writing I hope add some cool new art or even animations!

Am I doing this right?
My name is Manostar, Mano for short. I am hoping to become a contributed writer to this wonderful established realm of creativity and thrill. I originally found out about the SCP Foundation when I had been talking to a friend of mine about horror franchises and games, and he introduced me to the SCP universe. I had lurked on the site for a extended period of time before I had decided to become one with the community, and write a SCP/Tale in the near future by signing myself right up.

I myself am a man of the internet, I play games often and watch anime. I am often on Reddit, and enjoy reading the posts there. I am thrilled to read thrilling, interesting SCPs, such as SCP-093 and SCP-914. I've been lurking around the SCP entries for a while now, and thought I'd try my hand at one of my own. (I've actually just plopped my first SCP in the Drafts and Critiques section of the forums. It's a humanoid SCP, but I'm hoping my handling of it was decent.) I hope I can sharpen my writing skills, and also make a few friends here in the community.

My hobbies include very basic gamebook programming (think ChoiceScript), writing (anything that mixes horror and humor), listening to opera, and reading anything written by dead people.

I don't want to make my introduction too dorky so I'll try and keep it snappy. I am ColdSockets! My name holds next to know ulterior meanings I simply put two words together and ta da!

Anyways, I've always loved this site and after reading hundreds of the SCPs on the site I thought I'd give it a shot. Feel free to correct my grammar as I can honestly be as blind as a bat when it comes to my writing, my brain works too fast for my fingers.

I'm British so I love my tea and I'm interested in reading; a lot of reading I'm a total book worm. As well as being a book nerd I love music, especially metal and hard rock but I do love a bit of Radiohead as well as The Killers, basically everything! But yes hello I am ColdSockets and I will be attempting to write some SCPs/tales for the page :)

P.S. I hope I don't bother anyone or frustrate anyone; I am quite a nervous character.

Greetings! It's a pleasure to be an active member of this site, and I'm thrilled to have taken the large amount of time out of homework to set up my account. First things first, I'm sort of a novice writer, and still have lots of room to improve. Raising the bar up a few notches, one of my goals as a novice writer is to submit my own SCP article, hopefully one that'll pop out a little, that will add to the masses of other articles. (Already have a couple ideas right now.) As you can read from my aformentioned paranthesized statement, I've already had a few ideas and thoughts stewing in my noggin, and hope that I can put them to text, better than I can think of them. My specialty is more centered around peculiar and mystic, rather than scary or grotesque. If that is what you're looking for, and weird just makes you yawn, then I do apologize, but I'm here to write for my pleasure and everyone else's enjoyment. Not solely for you. As I think is encouraged for most, if not, all writers of this site, I plan to bring my own brand, and don't really cater to my audience when it comes to specific ideas, or introduce cliches. Hi, as you can probably tell by now my name is Un7n0wn (not my legal name of course). A friend introduced me to this site about a year ago when we were supposed to be working and I was immediately hooked. I have never posted any of my writing publicly before so this should be fun. You probably won't see anything from me for a while because I'll be making and scrapping a few ideas, getting feedback on some of the overall ideas I have, and watching the process of other SCPs going up, but I have a few ideas that I think will make some decent SCPs (with some refinement obviously).

As my name might imply, in nearly all aspects of my life I have been drawn to the 'fringe'; things that are unique, and not necessarily in a useful or beneficial manner. Gimmicks.

Somewhat ironically, I am a professional in a technical field (biomedicine), and although I can experiment with odd ideas on my own time, my actual job is quite standard, albeit still fascinating. That being said, I get my fair share of technical writing.

As a result, this site has a two-fold draw for me: Firstly, the unique and strange concepts within are captivating, and secondly, the style of writing needed for actual SCP articles is actually one I am familiar with. Admittedly, I am not the best creative writer, but when it comes to a technical report…

So, I look forward to reading more into the Foundation universe, interacting with the community, and perhaps soon writing an SCP concept of my own!

Question: wasn't there a form to be written, containing the key-phrase

I don't know if I am in the right area. But I am going to just hope I am. I am VVhiterun_guard. I am definitely new here and I hope I can get help navigating this site and whatnot.
I learned about SCPs from Youtube gameplay videos of SCP: Containment Breach. My interest was peaked so I did further investigation. I am a gamer and a decent artist. I also like parkour.
I came here with the intent of trying my hand at writing some SCPs. I have no idea what else to put here. I hope I can contribute some nifty pieces of work.

Hello, i have been a reader/lurker for years and have finally decided to join the site.

I already have an idea for my first SCP, and a rough draft too. I am currently trying to figure out how to use IRC clients so i can actually join the chat too. For now i will familiarize myself with the formatting options when writing an SCP in the sandbox and refine my SCP idea.

I would say i am a creative person, but my writing may need practice, especially since english is my second language. So whenever i post my Skip or a tale, any criticism on grammar is most welcome (although i will have it proofread before i post it).
I can't help but have a fondness for Anti-Memetic SCPs, like SCP-055 and the tale "Revenants", and therefore my (hopefully) first SCP will also be an Anti-Memetic.

Lastly, I want to say that i am impressed by this site and the creativity that people share here, and i hope to be a part of it, both now and in the future.

Hello, Everyone! First and foremost I want to thank you all for all of the wonderful writing you all do. I was drawn into the world of SCP's by complete accident in a sense that it was real, almost like many of us were taken by the Mtv Shorts and Publicity of "The Blair Witch" back in the 90s. But with SO MUCH MORE FERVOR! And as I learned more, I was pulled more into this community. I'm not much for forums, i'm totally new to it. But all of your creativity pulled me in so deep that I just couldn't get away!
Due to many other things I saw everywhere, I decided that I wanted to start my own writings, but through a different media. Through an original Idea of documentation on YouTube. I won't advertise my things here, and anyone wanting any information is more than willing to ask me specifically. But your forums and Creative Writing contributions got my juices flowing again! I'm working on writing an SCP of my own, one day. But, for now, I'm letting my creativity out in my own original concepts and personality!
Short answers here:

I've always been into reading SCP articles since I was like 10 or something. I joined because I love creative writing and consider myself a fairly creative person. Horror isn't exactly my bag. Nothing is considering how inexperienced I am, but horror in particular is a bag that simply doesn't belong to me. This only gives me more incentive to write for this wiki. It will take me out of my comfort zone and help me improve as a writer in whole.

I originally planned to share this account with two others but thats against the rules. Instead, I'll run this account alone with the other two helping behind the scenes. One of my little helpers is my lovely boyfriend who will help me get through the more informative and less traditional ways of writing fiction. He could also draw a few bits of art to go alongside any ideas I may have.

As far as hobbies go I'm a fan of fiction, although I'm very picky. I could be stuck in a library for hours just looking for a book I would consider worth while. Most of my experience with fiction comes from a lot of sites like this. I also love music and games

I'm very nervous about putting myself out there but I really look forward to seeing any feedback people may have. God knows when I'll even finish my first submition but it won't be soon I can tell you that.

I'm excited to make some new friends and will probably be on this thread for a while. Thanks for reading all this and please reply if you don't mind ^-^

G'day! I've wanted to join this site for a very long time, but I've been so busy that I've put it off for a good long while. I've been reading articles and stories here for a long time, just without an account.

I study biology in a wide range of areas, since I don't really have a preference for a specific topic- I find it all really interesting. I love horror fiction, and the SCP Foundation has so many elements that I adore so much. I also love to write, hence my wanting to write for the Foundation sometime. I hope I can make some enjoyable stuff while I'm here!

So uh, hi everybody…? (Sorry if this is too long paragraph 2 is all that is really needed)

I've been a (sort of) writer person since like, grade 6, but I have never really written down most of what I came up with, just stored it in the back of my mind… I actually have created and entire universe/galaxy/realm thing, but most of it is still just in my head. I do have some of it written down in a binder at home, but it is formatted kinda weirdly because I only made it to work for pathfinder…

Right! I almost forgot why I was actually writing in this! A month or so ago my friend introduced me to this wonderful thing by showing me Markiplier playing SCP:CB. I then became sorta obsessed with it and the Foundation and was like "Oh my gosh! This would be the perfect place to put some ideas!" and so I went to make a sandbox (http://scpsandbox2.wikidot.com/king-c-waffa) to start writing.

So then it was kinda weird because I didn't realize I needed a Wikidot Account and a SCP Foundation account so I was confused and didn't know what to do for a few days… but then I figured it out! that's sort of obvious as I am here now but whatever…

Anyways I am exited to become part of this "Foundation" and make some great things!

Oh ya and fyi according to my friends I am just like the wonderful Dr. Bright.

It took me a while, but I managed it.
Around three years here, reading all I can on here, watching and planning silently, and finally:
I'm here now.

I am Doctor Awoken.
A hopefully pleasant new writer here on the Wiki and community itself.
I've had some ideas about what I want to do for quite some time now, and now, hopefully, I can introduce them here on the site.

Believe it or not, I knew about The Foundation, even before Containment Breach. Foggy memories though, don't wanna get too much into that.
So…what else…Hobbies.

I don't really specify in what I like. I like most things equally. I DO like the supernatural, however. Guess that's a part of the reason why I'm joining. And to contribute, as well.

Hello, I've been reading this website almost 5 years now and it's honestly some of the most fascinating websites I've ever come across. I've tried writing several SCPs in my spare time about the same time I discovered this website, which were all awful by my own judgement, but now I feel like I've finally acquired the skills necessary to be successful at it.

I'm not necessarily a writer in the traditional aspect. I am a composer and a pianist for almost 12 years (I started young) and I love telling stories both through performing and writing music. I've got many other interests besides this (astrophysics, neurobiology, linguistics, computer programming). However I do love being creative and enjoy writing when I get the time. Hopefully I can bring some great ideas to this website! :)

my name is R Mundy! well ….that's not my real name. the R is my first initial though,no joke i'm really bad at introductions, so bad that i forgot how to use a comma!
well i have to say that i really like SCP, its a great group of writers and I always wanted to be apart of it because i love horror so much! i end up scarring myself half to death by watching to many CreepsMcpasta videos that i have to watch spongebob for 20 minutes before i got to bed so i don't end up staying up till like 4 am.

anyway despite me being a wuss i'm a pretty chill guy once you get to know me and ill respect you if you respect me!…….or if you're an admin. jokes aside though, im here TO WRITE SCP's and that is what ill do!

Hi, I am looking to be a new writer for this fine site, I have quite the wide imagination so I think that I will have quite a good time thinking up some new SCP's for y'all to look at.

I have been looking into becoming a novel writer but since I have almost no experience with writing (besides a couple short stories) I decided to look into something that would spark a bit more creativity than just some small stories.

The game SCP-087-b was my first step into the SCP world and after that it was containment breach but I have become more and more interested in the SCP's as I moved along. Finally, I decided to look into becoming a writer for this site because I have had some interesting ideas regarding various SCP's that I plan on building.

The main hobby I have is playing video games mostly strategy games or reading books, the main concern I have right now is, how exactly do you know whether or not you are kind of stealing another SCP and using it? Because I don't think I want to read every single SCP to make sure I am not copying ideas, because then I have a better chance of copying ideas.

If you ever have an idea and you want to see if it's been done before, just swing by the Ideas and Brainstorming forum and post a quick summary of the idea and ask if it has been done before. Someone will let you know there. That's also a good place to get your concept developed more before you start working on a draft.

I'm writing a book series, and thought a couple mysterious objects from it would make good SCPs, though the one I'm doing now I'm really on the fence about. The two that seem most like SCP material are of course the worst ones to start out writing, like any newbie, haha. I'm gonna do my best, whatever becomes of that.

How's it going, everyone? I'm Aurange, and I've been following SCP related media for a while now, and I do really love sitting down to read some good entries. I'm a writer myself, and I suppose I've always wanted to contribute in my own way, but could never be arsed to in all these years I've known about this site. That is, until now. I've read all of the site rules and checked on all of the things I should and should not do, including what kinds of articles have been done to death already, so I feel I'm sufficiently prepared to get started!

When attempting to redact something on the Sandbox, I have now learned to never, never, never press "Alt+(xx)4" with numlock on the wrong setting. It will fuck up the entire page and wipe everything since the last save. Hours of work, vaporized. Just a heads up.

I go by the name of Heloir, to which I pompously added "Professor", because why not ?
I'm French, and recently discovered SCP thank to a french youtuber that made his halloween video on SCP (Merci LinkstheSun), and it's been 24h hour that I have been lurking through the site and find it quite enjoyable.
I find lots of the ideas on the site interesting, but I especially like the lore of the SCP-Foundation itself, so that's something I will probably explore futhermore. I haven't start reading the Talls or the Canons yet, by I am definitly going to.

I'm a long-time roleplaying adept, especially Call of Chtullu and the World of Darkness, and having writen my own scenarios for the past eight years I have quite a few ideas in mind.
However, for the time being, I simply intend to lurk, both on the site and on the draft page, before actually start writing anything. I don't think I'm ready yet to write something fitting for the site, and even less something original. I think I will be brainstorming on the forum, maybe comment a bit… Just interact with the writers before writing myself.
But, as I said, I have a few ideas, and I will be keeping them on the back of my head while I learn more about the SCP.

I would like to apologies for any grammar and spelling errors in this post, english is not my native language, and my auto-correct is not set to english, and sometime changes english words to french ones.

Anyway, i'm happy to join the community, and hope to contribute in some interesting ways.

Hello, let me start by first stating that i have been a fan of the SCP universe and lore for quite some time and am eager to begin reading and writing more on the subject. As for the reason behind my name, from some stories you hear that certain agents/doctors/researchers have died in the line of duty (so to speak) and i wanted to cut to the chase. I am currently looking over the "How To Write An SCP" page as we speak on a separate window. I do not believe that i will be contributing any new SCPs as of yet, though as stated before, i look forward to contributing to the universe and sharing ideas with you all.

Allow me to begin this introduction with an expository segment on my joining of the SCP-Wiki. Twas as if it was mere weeks ago… probably because it was. I had been here before when I was less patient with reading, but now that I've gone through almost all of series 1, with the occasional non-linear jump to an SCP that was cross-linked, I can't stop. I've had a few ideas stirring around in my head about some (hopefully) original anomalies, and can't wait to get them out there for review and critique. I am also well aware that my first couple of SCP's are going to explode in fiery maelstrom of downvotes, but hey, I'll get better.
I play vidya and write and read and eat. In between those I contemplate existence and cry quietly to myself. Can't wait to contribute to this fantastic site!

Hey people! Call me Alpha, Lord of the dead! I've found this site through some video and research. I've read some of the SCP which were very fun to read. I'm now planning to write one (or more) in the future. I've found the concept and idea behind this site very interesting.

I like to read and write fanfiction on fanfiction.net where, if you’re interested to see them, you can find me using the same name (AlphaSkullReaper). I also like to draw manga character and to look at other people's drawing. I like playing video games a lot, A LOT! Especially Japanese game.

I've been a writer for about 4 years right now but I've spent a lot of this time just writing small idea that never became anything.

Raine Nevermore found this wiki through her brother when he'd shown her 173, and she guesses her fascination drove her to read more and totally not by her bilbophile tendencies.
Raine Nevermore has been observed to read any books she comes upon, including non fiction and sometimes even pornography. She has also been observed to take out her rage on unsuspecting innocent ZEDs with either a flamethrower or with a giant fucking axe goddamned chainsaw medieval claymore whenever some stupid idiot poor sod makes her mad.
Raine Nevermore also incorporates excessive use of strikethroughs as seen above, and is always using sarcasm when confronted with stupidity or idiocy quite nice when I'M NOT FUCKING TRIGGERED she isn't angry, which is rarely, considering the amount of fucking obstinate students work she has to put up with.
Raine Nevermore definitely doesn't have a voice in her head telling her to FUCKING BURN EVERYONE immolate everyone within a 25 meter radius and is totally not obsessed with fire. Stop asking, you do not have anything to worry about.

Greetings. I'm Stormbadger. I've never had much of an interest in the SCP world until a few months ago when a mate of mine at work mentioned it and I got reading. Needless to say, I was captivated enough to try my hand at it myself and become more involved in the community,

I've always been an avid writer since I was but a wee little badger, and I'm hoping to get at least a handful of SCP ideas up on this site that will hopefully be interesting. Chances are, though, I'll probably be writing a number of little tales and short stories set in the worldframe, maybe even set up my own canon at some point. I would also like to do some drawing for the site too, although my skills in doing so are not so refined as my writing.

I've also been, on the side, developing a little SCP-based game, currently titled "SCP: Insurgency", in RPG Maker.. It's hardly complete, and really needs more refining, but I think it has some potential provided I can focus on it. I've made some music for it and have some plans, but… well, that's about it. It's probably going to be more of a puzzle game and a little less on the horror side. I'd be interested in seeing if people wish to help with the art and spritework, but no real need to do so. If people want to suggest SCPs to use that would be great for puzzle solving or fun little moments, I'd be okay with that.

Aside from that, that's really about it. I hope to get involved more, and I apologise if I don't seem too responsive, I have a terrible habit of disappearing for long periods of time.
