The idea / headcanon for this tale has been floating around in my mind for about as long as the idea for CODE NAME: ████ ███ - The Truth has been. It was originally inspired by a tumblr post I stumbled upon (that I’ve never managed to find since) that said something along the lines of “Using D-Classes as test subjects isn’t as bad when you remember we’re all clones from SCP-2000.”

And of course, this tale is canon in the series that Code Name inspired¹ but isn’t a part of the main storyline. When/If the series gets a hub, the link will be added to this tale.

Oh hey neat a Tale about the mega-cloner.

Not a huge fan of how it turns kind of grandiose towards the end, and I’m not a huge fan of explicitly spelling out how “but they’re just clones”, but all things considered it works pretty well. I DO like how the O5 seemed to be casually but genuinely concerned for the monitor duty guy. They’ve probably had chats monthly for a long long time, have some kind of a rapport.

The ending crosslink to SCP-2000 is pretty good too. I saw it coming once we were introduced to his name (Tukay Dee), but it’s a great execution for a crosslink nonetheless.

Not to pick on you, but you advertised this quite ostentatiously in 19, and that always risks it getting read!

The concept is basically "D-Class are grown from the clone tree" (the second popular concept regarding D-Class when the death row conceit began to wear thin) but replacing the clone tree with SCP-200. That would be fine if you went further and had some fun with it. You don't, though — that's all there is.

Even that would be okay if the story itself was entertaining, but it doesn't grab me. Lots of 'eh' exposition, obvious observations, generic characterization, and generic scenes. Plus, your dialogue tags are mostly grammatically incorrect.

I'd rethink the whole story, honestly. Try to come up with a fun idea, and then work on character and dialogue. I feel a little bad saying this since you clearly put a lot of work into it, and it's unfortunate that the numerous people you had read this didn't give you any similar feedback, but so it goes. Good luck.

Is this meant to be "hundreds or thousands"? 100,000 days is 274 years.

She does 12+ in a day. And it's probably an internal monologue leaking into the narration; the real number is probably closer to tens of thousands.

Eh, the second I saw the title of the article, I had a pretty good idea as to what the twist ending would be. To be honest, using SCP-2000 to make the needed amount of needed D-class does make a certain degree of sense, as it escapes the problem of using deathrow inmates. However, you go about explaining this in one exposition dump after another that the pretty thin narrative you have going on gets bogged down and buried. For lack of a better term, this tale left me a little bored.

I enjoyed the second part of this to the point that I upvoted. The idea of the machine spawning its own overseers, and then seeing the life that awaits them was compelling, and it had a nice future-tech, almost dystopian feel to it. That part hung together really well, in my estimation.

The front piece was a little heavy on the "they're murderers so it's okay to treat them like animals" for my liking, which is not a premise that I've ever truly believed, and so for me as a reader it felt like an unsteady basis for a narrative. Also, I'm pretty certain that even a jaded, checked-out person is going to notice that they got all the same details about a person the second time around.

Nevertheless, for a relatively lengthy piece, it kept my attention, and even if it's a fairly predictable use of the aforementioned skip, the detailed elaboration on what exactly goes on down there was entertaining.

doesn't this mean that now SCP-4932 has to be something that requires a lot of D-class?
