I was digging the illuminati gags but then you just kind of hammered the D-class into it and ruined the joke.
I mean… this was an entry for the D-class contest. I'm not sure the entire reason for an article's existence can be described as "tacked on", especially a -J article.
Also, the spooky symbol inside of that first [DATA EXPUNGED] was solid as hell.
It very much can be tacked on. The entire article until the very last collapsible was about Illuminati gags. The last collapsible is the only thing tying this to the contest and it's the worst part of the article by far.
I think this can work without the D-class. Actually, I am more surprised that no one equated the Foundation to the New World Order yet.
I think this can work without the D-class.
If this ends up being a common criticism and the article doesn't do very well, I'll probably end up making the triangle part the focus of its own SCP and spin off the Illuminati ==> D-Class bit into its own article. Maybe a tale.
But we'll see.

I second ARD, TG and Mr.Wrong: was not sure while reading, but downvoted at the end because I do think the D-Class is shoehorned into this.
This would be a good -J on its own, I think. This:
The instance of SCP-103-J-2 can temporarily be removed from SCP-140 by closing the book.
is pure genius, IMO!
OTOH, maybe tone down the other picture captions? I believe it would work better (= be more funny and also more efficient) to have very serious captions for each picture, in the same tone as the one quoted above.
I also like the 'matter of tradition' thing!
The thought of someone in a clandestine organization such as the Foundation being a terribly paranoid conspiracy theorist is absolutely priceless (the photo captions were the highlight for me).
Likewise, the Foundation encountering a race of ubermensh, and using them as D-class out of a sense of impotent spite is equally funny.
+1, got several laughs out of the addenda, though I do think this could easily float as two articles.
I enjoy this article. Not quite to the point of laughing, but it's surprisingly clever considering the idea.
The Foundation abducted the entire Illuminati and made them into D-Class because they're overall better than normal humans. That's… actually kind of genius, and I think it could have stood on its own outside the contest.
My biggest issue is the overabundance of triangle joke compared to the D-Class focus. It's on a very thin threshold between "not enough narrative strength to count" and "it fulfills the contest requirements."
But I lean more towards the latter here and I'll let it stand, it can remain in the runnings. It fulfills the contest requirements as a -J article can. I'd prefer if there was a bit more of a heavier implication, but it fits as it is. If only just so.
I like it quite a bit.
Future contest -Js should take my criticism above into account when posting.
I'm glad that there's not only a -J about the Illuminati, but that the Foundation goes to the logical extreme of what to do with these superhuman Illuminati; make them D-Class!
Eh, most of the jokes here fell flat for me, which is more than enough for me to downvote a regular -J. Additionally, this doesn't really focus on D-class in a significant manner save for the last bit tossed in at the end, and that defeats the point of this being a D-class content entry.
-1.
For the contest — which has kind of passed me by — that explanation at the end feels really tacked on.
That said, "and spouses" was unexpectedly hilarious, the image captions are perfect, and that last interview is funny. I laughed a lot, so that's a +1 from me.
"And spouses" is just so perfect. It's beautiful…
