"… pre-killed insects may be provided for enrichment purposes."
There's something about that that pleases me.
Well, what else do you give a dead lizard to hunt? Or, to jump at while you wiggle it about with tweezers, but same difference.
I've already said all this in chat, but this is an immensely charming, understated little gem. While I don't think every skip should be cute, it's great to have that variety on the site. I hope this plucky Lil lizz does well
+1, obviously.
He's doing his best to lizard, and that's really all you can ask him to do.
he will eat ur watermelons and give you crunchy mummy happiness in return
fence lizaaaaarrrdddddd ;~;
Context for anyone who wasn't in chat when this article was being reviewed: one time I found a lizard in my yard when it was time to clean up the storage junk piled up there. The lizard had been probably living in a box for some time so I felt bad for him and went to get some watermelon on a toothpick. The lizard just sat on the wall and I held out the watermelon and he just looked at it and licked it a few times and we were FRIENDS!!1!11!! then my mom walked over and the lizard disappeared into the bushes so I just left the watermelon on the wall. ;(
from being processed as trail mix
These six words make the whole thing for me.
The best part is that this all started because my mom found a dead lizard in her trail mix when she was at college, and I wanted to turn that into an SCP.
Clearly I'm in the minority, but this doesn't do much for me. There's not much here except "zombie lizard." Perhaps I'm missing something?
Nah, this is the same boat I'm in as well. It's the reason why I haven't written anything else like "Moth Helm", because one of the primary criticisms of that article was "it's just a cute thing", and they were right. It doesn't really have anything else going on.
You should have seen this article when I tried to give it something else going on. It wasn't great. I'd rather get downvotes for "not much other than adorably pathetic thing" than "what the fuck is this shit please stop and go back to the lizard."
I actually liked Moth Helm because it was so adorable. I need to upvote that if I haven't already.

Thank you, Woggle!
i dont know if this is true, but it seems like you got the idea from scp 2186 ( http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-2186 )
I didn't even think of that skip while writing this one. I got the idea from a story about my mom finding a dried and salted lizard in her trail mix. The premise started out as simply "Hey, what if the lizard had been alive?"
But I'm not quite sure I understand your point? 2186 is neither a fence lizard nor a zombie. 2974 has no abilities of environmental transformation, nor is it a chameleon. The only common point is that they're both lizards with strict care requirements. Would you mind explaining this to me a little more?
A salted and dried cyborg zombie trail mix lizard.
How adorable.
