Operational Staff Candidates:
Below is a group of suggestions regarding Junior Staff who Team Captains have nominated to be voted upwards to Operational Staff. Please read the commentary provided in order to help your judgement regarding these staff.| Junior Staff Member: | |
| Captain/Team: | MAST - Deletions ( |
| Why: | Even before she joined staff, Corpse has been a boon to many teams. One of the few she has helped most since joining Staff is Deletions. We usually struggle to reach threshold — or at least spend a lot of time doing so — but ever since Corpse joined Deletions, it has been pretty smooth sailing. She has a good eye for detail, is very attentive, and does her work with the utmost expedience and care. —Nico |
| Optional areas of improvement: | I asked BD to tell me what she views as her own areas of improvement as an OS and this is what she said: "I would say my biggest weakness as a staffer is my inconsistent schedule combined with my forgetfulness, which leaves me liable to miss or delay prior commitments at times." Personally, I believe Corpse may be being too hard on herself. Staff work is not as important as IRL. My only real concern for Corpse is burnout. She works hard — very hard — perhaps to the point where I am concerned she may burn out eventually. I want her to take breaks and pace herself, but other than that, she is an ideal staffer. |

| Why: | Koscheiisms has been an incredibly vital and important member of the Data Analysis subteam, being the most experienced and qualified member of the team when it comes to quantitative work. Its knowledge of R has been crucial to the workflow of Data Analysis. Additionally, it has been a joy to work with, being an incredibly knowledgeable and kind user that has brought a lot to the team. The team would be far worse off without it, and it has my highest recommendation. — Data |
| Optional areas of improvement: | I asked Koscheiisms where it could improve as a staff member, to which it replied: "My biggest point of improvement as a staff member is my level of overall involvement in the community and in my work. Recently, I've found myself only checking in at the end of the month since that's when Site News is published and where Data Analysis is needed the most. However, infrequent activity doesn't leave enough time to solve problems or troubleshoot. By keeping a better eye on things both in staff spaces and on-site, I hope to gain a better understanding of what niches the Data Analysis subteam can help to fill!" This is generally true for most of Data Analysis, as the team is most active at the end of the month for site news; members of Data Analysis are not necessarily required to be needed daily, and whenever I have need Koscheiisms help with anything it has always responded in a reasonable time frame. As the team expands in scope I have no doubts thatot will continue to be an incredibly valuable member of the team. |

| Captain/Team: | Discord Crit ( |
| Why: | awhiteboy has been an incredibly productive and helpful member of the writing channels, even before his addition to staff. In this role, he has continued to help cultivate a welcoming and useful space for writers to interact and ask questions. whiteboy has also been a regular host of Crit Club, an initiative that was restarted in the past few months to offer love critique on vetted articles. When asked to self-reflect on why he should be promoted, awhiteboy responded as such: "I'm pretty comfortably involved in and aware of what's going on within the community, including in discussions of both on-site spaces and the discord. I like being able to get involved in things as they're going on and helping out when I can, for which I'd throw in my work on the Bright Works Project. I'd like to be able to get involved more, which I think OS will provide me the opportunity to do." |
| Optional areas of improvement: | We asked awhiteboy where he could improve as an OS, and he said:"I think I could definitely work on being more vocal with what I think during discussions. I've noticed in the past I tend to hold back on involving myself in discussions I have thoughts on in fear of making a mistake/getting something wrong. I think more confidence in my own opinions could do me some good." |

| Why: | katyastrangelove has been a phenomenal help with new authors and experienced authors alike in terms of successfully and tactfully navigating potentially triggering content on the wiki. It has also been crucial help in terms of day to day moderating of the space. When asked to self-reflect on why he should be promoted, katya responded as such: "I believe that I'm ready for promotion because I've gotten a good grasp on how moderation/critstaffing works in 19cord and have been able to handle a variety of situations. //" |
| Optional areas of improvement: | We asked katya where it could improve as an OS, and they said:"I think I can improve in being decisive and standing on my decisions because I've been too mild in the past."// |

| Why: | Kiddeaux has also been an active member of the writing channels, much in the same way as our other candidates. They are helpful and patient, and have helped maintain a welcoming vibe within the writing channels, working with new authors to flesh out the ideas that are often brought to the general channels. |

| Captain/Team: | Discord ( |
| Why: | There are three things needed to be a good moderator in 19cord: activity, reliability, and solid judgement. Gabriel Kero has all three. He consistently participates in moderation discussions, understands how to effectively apply our regulations, and navigates the challenging environment of both the Discord platform and the server itself. It is on that basis that I am recommending him to be promoted to Operational Staff. |

| Captain/Team: | Admin Team |
| Why: | pr0m37h3um's work has been extraordinary across all staff teams, particularly in times of immense pressure. Whether working on sensitive, complex cases with Anti-Harassment or helping to coordinate media campaigns for our recent high-profile coverage, Prom has gone out of her way to bring a deliberate, considerate, and inclusive viewpoint to each discussion while remaining friendly and approachable to all users. Admin would consider itself fortunate to add her to the team. |
