Rewrite of an GOI-Format article. Please note that this is not in any way standard or recognized format, and should be tagged as a tale.
Firstly, I'd like to give a special shoutout and humungous thanks to DrClefDrClef as this would literally not have happened without the GOC hub. This provided me with not just inspiration, but also the lore and tone used in the peice.
I'd also like to thank Dr Reach, as I had to lift some coding off of his 5th Global Occult Coalition Donation for formatting due to my wiki inexperience.
Thirdly, thanks to MrWrong, who provided invaluable feedback to an earlier incarnation in forums.
If you looked at this in chat and provided feedback, lemme know 'cause it has been awhile since I was shopping this around (short term memory loss is a terrible thing).
Also a thanks should go out to Voct, Rimple for feedback. Huge thanks to anqxyr who assisted in the coding!
Another thanks to Aelanna. As the logo in the first tab has been adapted from her GOC logo.

This has improved quite a bit over the first time I saw it in chat - the method by which Fenrir is destroyed is particularly clever.
MrWrongMrWrong 26 Feb 2016, 23:02
Giving my testimony that this has been indeed improved since the draft I saw way back. Glad that GOC gets some action with anomalies… I mean, threat entities.
P.S. Although you should add in 'Bosch' in the title for the sake of GOC threat entities nomenclature.

I feel like you could have taken the first attempt at an "official" GOC goi-format so much further than renaming a few headers and choosing a nice pastel color scheme. This is kind of disappointing.

I agree that it's kind of simple format-wise, I took some cues from some other comparatively simple goi 2014 docs.
Just looking at some of the other entries it seems like it falls a bit flat with regards to overall appearance. I absolutely would have liked to take the format-screw to extremes, however, I feel like its simplicity will make the format more accessible to others in the future (as GOI docs are a bit few and far in between).

Yes, and that's exactly why this is so disappointing. The minute I saw it, I figured you'd taken the SH look, renamed a few headers in the SCP format and voilá, a new goi-format. It just feels like a zero effort format and that really makes it impossible for me to enjoy the content. I really don't know why you didn't expand on stuff Clef already produced for the unofficial GOC hub, apart from borrowing terminology.
ShaggydredlocksShaggydredlocks 27 Feb 2016, 08:54
It's funny, I actually got the bare-bones of the format from a Manna Charitable Foundation article. I would have loved to go more in depth with the format, but like I said above, I am incredibly inexperienced with wikidot. I pored over the syntax but couldn't really grok it from there. If you have any suggestions/sources I can use, I'll look into them, and try to update this after the contest. I would at the very least like to change the top banner to something GOC themed (much like this wonderful setup).
I actually did expand on the foundation laid out by Clef, albeit only a little. I didn't use Sparkplug, I created a 108 member organization, a codeword and the airship. I know I didn't go all out with delving overly deep into new GOC territory, but the contest's focus is for MTFs.

It's neat that it only appeared as teeth, but A) it's just a Fenrir, and B) I find this GOC format awfully dry.
ofmiceandmousematsofmiceandmousemats 27 Feb 2016, 19:45
First of all, it is a pretty interesting idea that Fenrir appears as just a set of teeth. That's cool. It is straightforward, but I did enjoy it for what it is.
Format wise, yes, it is maybe a little rough around the edges but, to me, this is what a GOC report would look like: description of the anomaly, steps to deal with it, debriefing. I don't think having any more bells and whistles would make this format better. You could have it as a series of letters from GOC agents to each other, but would that make it easier or harder to tell stories of monsters being destroyed by teams of soldiers and magicians? I'd guess the latter. The GOC format could be the minutes from a debate from the GOC parliament, but I would wager that would just obscure the stories you'd want to tell about the GOC.
There is nothing wrong with a straightforward format, and this isn't a million miles from what I'd expect the GOC format to be. This isn't overly clever. It's pretty bare bones. It's extremely accessible. But I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with any of that.
PetrogradPetrograd 28 Feb 2016, 21:01
It may be pretty basic structurally, but I really liked the narrative.
Also, even if it is just Fenrir, I'm totally chalking this up as an SCP-1739 incident.
Jacob ConwellJacob Conwell 29 Feb 2016, 02:22
Well now. I agree that the way the GOC terminated the Fenrir was pretty creative, as I actually chuckled upon reading that portion of the document. However, as many have pointed out before, this is really dry. Considering the immense background material that the GOC has for you to pull from, this format feels barebones. I agree with Crayne in that this just feels like a color and heading swap of the SH format.
-1. Just not enough substance here for me to upvote.
ShaggydredlocksShaggydredlocks 29 Feb 2016, 02:46
So, once I'm able to edit, what in particular should i be including? I mean, this is a basic "GOI equivalent of an SCP article", and I'm not sure I should include much else. I kind of was hoping to establish a platform for others to make GOC articles in this fashion, since SH has a template in their hub and GOC does not.
I did actually work on the format. I adapted it from the little green box in this article. I would have done it from scratch had I known how to do boxes and borders.
CrayneCrayne 29 Feb 2016, 02:56

And that's exactly what irks me: you're creating the very first successful GOC goi-format. Once this is recognized as the format for GOC goi-format articles, any attempt to do things differently, produce a more…proprietary and unique format would have to be discussed with you and your team.

Okay, so what did you have in mind? I mean, I didn't know anyone else was interested in doing this. In-universe, I'm feeling this is appropriate. I only want the best if this is going to be implemented beyond this article. If you're that passionate, I'll can hold off (and maybe retrofit this into a revised format).
Is it simply the look? Are you feeling it needs a unique banner? Or actual separate sections/docs?
EDIT: Where were you when I was looking for teammates damnit? (Checks Roster) Oh.

If I were to make a GOC format, I think I'd go for more of an eclectic format where each article is a collection of debriefings, dry case studies, receipts for expenditures by operatives in the field etc., interspersed with things like occult rituals needed to control or destroy stuff, bibliographical research in ancient tomes. A real case file.
But honestly, if you're going to overhaul the format after the contest, I really, really, really suggest getting Clef involved. As the GOC's main proponent and creator, you're going to be hardpressed to find a better creative source to help you develop a new format.
That said, yeah, I'm up for developing this further after the contest if you want. :)
ShaggydredlocksShaggydredlocks 29 Feb 2016, 10:31
Definitely. I did have some higher aspirations for the format, but inexperience/time constraints led to me abandoning some of the other things I wanted to do here. We gotta get a PM session going.
sirpuddingsirpudding 8 Mar 2016, 20:08
I want to like this, but there are a number of details that really don't work:
"Jäeger Bombers". This is a very boring name and probably not correct German. "Jager" means hunter, and also fighter aircraft. So I guess this means "Fighter-bomber", which is actually "Jagdbomber" in German. Or maybe it means "hunter bomber", which I don't get (they bomb hunters)?
The scale of the creature means that they brought toothpicks to a rocket fight. If tissue thickness scales with size, no conventional small-arms or even most artillery pieces are going to have any effect on this. You want to fight something like this with really big explosives (probably with penetrating shells; bunker-busters), FAEs, or even tactical nukes.
The M-82; I'm guessing this is the anomalous Barret .50 cal that I can't seem to find now. Maybe it would be better if the SCP article was linked, and if there was some more lampshading. Otherwise this is so woefully inadequate that it doesn't even make them look competent enough to look incompetent.
The shoot-to-kill order at the end is over-the-top ridiculous. Why would the GOC risk another Occult War, as well as offending the national governments that hold the pursestrings to both organizations, just to steal a toy from the Foundation? Have they tried asking if they can buy one? Or maybe reverse engineering their own? Even if they do want to steal it, that is a mission for covert operatives, it isn't a worldwide rule of engagement; that's just chaos.

The task force name is actually a reference to the Jägerbomb cocktail drink..
sirpuddingsirpudding 8 Mar 2016, 20:34
Okay, I had forgotten that was a thing. I'm not big on Schnapps or cocktails, or especially Schnapps-based cocktails. I'm not sure what that has to do with monster hunting (other than Jägermeister's literal meaning). I think their theme is monster hunting, anyway, but I'm not sure.

I used Jäeger as a reference to the giant mechs in Pacific Rim, as well as Erin Yaeger (same pronounciation), another giant slayer from Attack on Titan.
I toyed with the idea of bunker busters, actually, though I glossed over their armaments pretty much altogether.
I also just realized I forgot to link to 2818 in my author post.
I can either tone down the end note, or expand and try to justify it.
I really need to overhaul my whole canon for this MTF post-contest. Really dissapointed in what I put out after seeing everything else.
Thanks for the feedback!
ETA: Ergh. Just realized this looks terrible in mobile, excluding landscape view. Not sure what happened. Every time I've viewed the draft on my phone it looked fine.
