Here's one I've been working on for a while, hope you like it!
I’ve got mixed feelings about this one. I like the concept, but I feel like it something is missing. The problem is that I’m not sure what’s missing and it’s driving me mad trying that I can’t quite put my finger on it.
No vote for now. If something is added to make this one stand out I’ll give it an up vote, but even if nothing is changed, I can’t bring myself to down vote it.
Spooky, but the skeleton liberation front by itself isn't enough to carry the article.
I always like skips of the "a really weird thing that simply is for no good reason" variety. They have to have that special something to pull it off, mind you, but for me this one manages it. The kicker here are the experiment logs. Not too extensive, but it makes up for that with creative and informative tests. I particularly liked test 3; it manages an old school "okay, that was both unexpected and, in retrospect, probably not such a great idea…" moment while still portraying a competent foundation taking reasonable and effective precautions against such situations.
You caught my attention with mention of the CVNP, because I live right the fuck next to it and it's always been a big part of my life. But the effect is far too much like another skip, a forest in Brazil, I think, with wildlife made out of organs and stuff. Overall, this doesn't stand far enough apart from it, and it's just a bunch of stuff-what-kills-dudes. And what's with those Agent nicknames?
Interesting concept, but I'm kind of confused by how it's specified that non-living skeletal tissue reanimates but things that are killed reanimate instantly. When a person "dies" most of their cells are going to stay alive for a while longer.
Spooky Scary Skeletons
(nice scip btw)
The concept is kind of bland, but the execution makes it all work, especially with the skeletal bacteria killing the Agent. I also really like that the Foundation discovered and got to name a dinosaur.
thank mr. skeltal +1 updoot for calcium
I don't quite understand how the bacteria killed the agent. I thought they stopped being animated once you left the area?
(Furthermore, since we have more bacteria in our guts than we have cells, and they die all the time, anyone affected should get attacked all over, all the time.)
