The last time I was active on this site was around 2015-2017, when I was much younger and a decidedly different person than I am now. I wrote a handful of articles, but my favorite child was always Excerpts Regarding St. Sophia, which introduced a worldbuilding element I kept wanting to develop, but I didn't find any suitable ideas and before long I had moved on to other things and stopped being active here.
Yet, I still find myself thinking about the things I wrote then, and felt inspired today to write this much, which serves as something of a conclusion to the little universe of articles I put up almost eight years ago now. I would say that this article aims at two things:
- To tell a story of a persecuted faith caught between (and prevailing over!) the ravages of war and imperialism, and
- To affectionately deconstruct the writing I put out when I was a teenager and somehow piece it all together into something meaningful.
I enjoyed writing this article and I hope that you can find even a portion of the same enjoyment in reading it. I have no idea what the wiki style is like these days so I'm curious to see how you'll receive it!
