Happy (late) birthday, Iris!
Found this by total accident, but it was worth it (kinda).
I liked the story, mainly because I'm a big fan of Iris. Still, it has some problems: the main reason I liked the article is because it involves Iris, not because I think it was done very well. The characters are only there to serve the plot that surrounds Iris, and while that can be good, they don't fit in my opinion. I also agree with Zoobeny that the last paragraph was excessively long, and I got surprised the first time I saw it.
Still, I will give it an upvote, mainly for Iris.

P.D: I almost forgot to say, but while the longer paragraph was a problem, I loved the reason why Iris is called that way and the motif you did with irises. Chef's kiss.
