On September 5th, the Disciplinary Team received a complaint regarding gee0765 which has been determined to be valid and worthy of further discussion.
The following is the statement from AHT regarding gee's recent behavior.
AHT would like to port a case to Disc regarding
gee0765. During a recent incident, on a public platform, he accused user
Marceline_Raynes of being a pedophile. AHT has received a number of complaints over the years in regards to gee, which consist of similar behavior to what they have engaged in here. While the behavior we have observed/has been reported is not in our judgement worthy of AHT action beyond a warning, we do believe it follows a consistent pattern of negative behavior which concerns disc, and is in line with previous behavior for which gee has been censured previously. (See gee's previous censure).
After AHT asked him, gee acknowledged that this accusation is not based on any concrete evidence of such behavior, but rather the age gap between Mars and his partner. We acknowledge the fact that the two users knew each other when the other user was a minor; however, upon investigation, there is no evidence of any romantic/sexual relationship while the partner was a minor.
This tweet was then brought to 19cord and sparked a tense discussion that resulted in numerous individuals barraging both Mars and the partner with questions. While gee himself did not post the tweet to 19cord, he was the inciting incident; moreover, he was present during that conversation and is at the time of writing this a captain of the Discord Chat Team but did nothing to reign in the discussion after the partner expressed they were uncomfortable with people prodding into their life. It is our belief, therefore, that he has failed in upholding both the expectations and obligations of a leader among staff and should be censured
It has also come to disciplinary's attention that gee has failed to uphold his responsibilities as captain of the Discord Team. Evidence has shown gee is generally unavailable to accept duties, often leaving those duties to be picked up by the other captains of Discord, even when reminded frequently that his help is needed. This routine of gee saying they will increase their workload and then not doing so has become a detriment to the team and it's tasks. Other members of the Discord Team have also expressed hesitation when it comes to proposing changes to the way 19cord is run due to his general hostility and lack of decorum. For these reasons, not only is gee believed to be too impulsive and hostile to be a healthy member of SCP staff, it is also apparent that he is not deserving of an authoritative position on staff.
Furthermore, numerous complaints have been submitted to the disciplinary committee relating to gee's conduct over the past 2 years. While these transgressions have not been extreme enough to warrant demotion and were often determined to be non-rule breaking as stand-alone events, the lack of improvement and repeated line toeing nature of gee's actions has emphasized the necessity of this thread and discussion. Since the time of gee's last censure, the following has been noted in gee's behavior.
- Overly sarcastic and/or passive aggressive behavior
- Borderline hostile and aggressive statements
- Borderline offensive jokes
- Purposefully inflammatory actions
All of the above is in line with the reasons for gee's previous censure. With this taken into consideration, it is the recommendation of AHT and the Disciplinary Committee, that gee0765 receive the following consequences:
• Removal from staff.
Or
• 3 month censure and removal from any authoritative positions on staff.
The specifics of this punishment and the passage thereof are the subject of this thread and open to discussion. In line with our current charter, the punishment given to gee will be whatever the consensus is among staff present for this discussion. If the staff body determines gee should receive a more lenient punishment counter to what is recommended above, it will be be enacted. For clarity and ease of tallying, please bold your suggested punishment.
