This article is a remix of SCP-1676, written by Aelanna.

When I joined the SCP wiki four years ago, one of the first SCPs I read was SCP-1676. Back then my standards were lower than the Marianas Trench, so I was captivated by the idea of someone respawning after crashing in a certain make and model of car.

Fast forward to now, and I have my chance to bring more emotional impact to an obscure skip that got me into writing my own.

First I settled on a second generation Ford Explorer as a direct competitor to the Chevrolet Blazer that 1676 featured, but I already have three Ford SCPs, so I decided against it. Next was the Jeep XJ Cherokee as it was very popular and had the crash protection of a shopping cart. However, I realized that it was too old for the time period I wanted to represent. Lastly, I chose the Nissan X-terra because we barely have any Nissan SCPs.

I love the little touch of "Seizing cloned people", that rounds out the piece so well.

I hate to no-vote, I really do.
I think most of what’s here works for me? The amnestics section went on a little longer then necessary in a way that didn’t help the article, but everything else I found to be well written. It’s a fun take on the anomaly, for sure.

But the ending doesn’t work for me. It feels like it ends on such an anticlimactic moment of just… “this happened”. My emotions aren’t super torn by taking away the mother of these children you’re spraying with memory juice, and I’m left with no implication of what happens after.

There’s an angle you could’ve taken, one that really explores the consequences of turning into a dead person’s clone in a Foundation world, that I would’ve enjoyed more. It’s probably my own bias, but right now, I don't feel keen on voting either way.

This feels like a really good start to an article, but the current exploration of this concept is a bit too surface level for me to feel very strongly about it. People are being taken away from families that love them, Why? So what? I am left to only guess.

I think the concept is strong enough not to downvote, so I'm caught in a no-vote here.

Imma be honest, I think the scenes of 'person being taken away' and 'amnesticization process' could have been separated better; feels chaotic, but not in a good way. As for the article, it's… I liked how the piece was going, and then the last bit just felt very generic. Like, if I'm being honest here, I don't think there's enough here remixed regarding the original to really feel like there is much past the interviews, which, to be fair, are a big part of the piece, but also… They sort of take what made the piece work, that subtle cruelty, and just show it to the whole world and… I'm gonna be honest, I think this is one of those moments where less would have told more.

Maybe it should have ended with them pulling the sprays, then the cameras are turned off, preying on that lack of accountability sort of vibe, or, I dunno, something else. This just feels like the exact same article, just a touch different, but not really it feeling like the change was an upgrade.

All in all… Yeah, sorry, it's a downvote. By itself it mighta been a novote, but I think this piece fails as a remix of the original as well.

I really liked this idea. Sometimes you get tired of spooky monsters removed 3.33CM of head tissue and like a little wholesome.

Novoting for similar reasons as IndustryStandard — when I read this and then read 1676, this really felt like "1676 but more" — filling in the gaps that had been left for horrific implications in 1676. There's no twist or upward construction, just more.

I wasn't completely sold on this depiction of an evil Foundation that sprays amnestics in people's faces mainly because of the presentation and pacing it felt slapstick to me. 7025 also has like the conceptual slapstick of foundation people getting hit by busses, but here like the presentation feels like it could fall into either funny or abhorrent just from how the script is set up, while the narrative wants it to be abhorrent.
