Thanks for the comment!
Yeah, this document was a little tricky for me to write, especially at the very beginning. My team members helped a lot with the ideas and the dialogue, especially Kalinin. Von Pincier and minmin also reviewed the piece a couple times and left comments within the drafts as the piece changed from revision to revision.
In regards to the collapsible:
1. The game was in-universe intended to just be the three of them meeting in a break room and Manu just happened to listen in because it thought the dialogue was worth remembering. The "you never know" game is actually one of the very first things I thought about including in the piece. Ultimately it's not anything super special to the narrative, but it's something that people IRL can play with their friends, and something like that is what I felt Manu would feel is worth keeping a log of.
2. My thoughts were twofold—in the case of Enriquez's note to his wife, the solid paper and his own handwriting felt more sentimental. For Qasim and Boeckmann, they strike me as people who don't like the possibility of compromise that can result from digital files (it's harder to falsify hard copies in someone's handwriting than alter digital notes). Also, you don't need battery power to read a regular notebook. The fact that things written on paper are likely scarce in the future is all the more reason for Manu to want to hunt them down.
3. When I first drafted the piece, the setting was actually few days before the shuttle launch. It didn't occur to me that I'd need to change the pictures (then again, I have no clue how to differentiate spaceship light from sunlight). If you're willing to help with the photomanipulation, I'd really appreciate it!
