The 4 objects & their associated particles represent the classical Greek/Roman elements and mediate different "laws of physics" within the bubbles.

You managed to justify a comically oversized cubic containment. You ursine so-and-so.
No vote. It's strange, it would normally tickle my "funny science" bone, but for some reason it didn't hook me.
Upvoting because I happen to have a very, very specific fear pertaining to the concept of large geometric objects floating in midair. Goddamn it.
Each instance is surrounded by an anomalous region of space centered on it, within which the laws of physics are altered such that all matter consists of mixtures of 5 indivisible particles
The other sci-fi in this article is understandable, but "all matter consists of 5 indivisible particles"? Wut? I feel like that aspect needs a lot more elaboration if these things completely restructure every molecule of every physical thing within their respective ranges of effect.
…That is one weird-ass fear, Cyan. I'm sorry?
Also, that should've been 4 particles (going to fix now) and they're indicative of the classic GrecoRoman elements. Everything was assumed to be made of some combination of those 4 elements, just too small to see.
Edit: I just did a quick edit to add some about the replacing. Might need to add more, but not right now. I'm at work and have limited time. :P

OH. I get it now. Apparently the number mix-up was enough to confuse me about that aspect. Durr.
Shouldn't the earth one cause Aristotlean gravity, rather than merely infinite gravity? I would expect it to cause objects to move toward their natural place rather than merely attracted to the geometric center of the universe.
I thought about that, but couldn't figure out how to describe that without it being terribly unwieldy. As it is, "moving to their natural place" generally meant earth-water-air-fire in order from bottom to top, which I briefly touched on with the decomposed biomatter stratifying.
Edit: Also, in the simplified physics generated by these things, the earth element isn't generating gravity; it's generating attraction, hence how it works in place of magnetism too.

So if I am next to SCP-2837-2 on pluto or somewhere like that very distant from earth, the earths normal gravitational pull would have an effect on me until I exit -2's sphere of effect? That part feels a bit odd to me, but other than that, being a math geek I liked it, +1.
Edit: just realized it was explained in sirpuddings post.
Responding to your strikeout, kinda-sorta. You'd "fall" towards Earth with the same force of gravity/acceleration as if you were at ground level on Earth. SIGNIFICANTLY greater than Earth would normally affect you on Pluto.

Weirdly, the crash of the Invisible Hand at the beginning of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith is a pretty good visual of how Aristotelian gravity would work (just like the space combat demonstrates the luminferous aether). Objects are attracted towards Coruscant regardless of the orientation of the Invisible Hand (unlike what you would expect if the ship had artificial Newtonian gravity oriented perpendicular to the decks).
Yeah, Star Wars ain't the greatest with the scientific realism. :P
I think part of it is that Aristotlean/pre-Newtonian physics operate according to "common sense" and what we intuitively think should happen, not what actual physics says should happen. The flying brooms in Harry Potter work the same way: hairpin turns, instant starts/stops & point-in-a-direction-and-go instead of inertia and proper action/reaction.

I am kind of sad that the "sphere" that is created when all four instances are together isn't big enough to take effect on the whole planet, would have been nice given the lore (prepare the world for Orcus).
If I calculated correctly the maximum sphere of effect would be 52,09m ( 1,74m + 27,8m + 6,95m + 15,6m)
If we use the product of the four smaller spheres instead of the sum the maximum would be 5244,5m (just a bit over 5 kilometers)
Maybe I did something wrong with the calculations or don't get the significance of the numbers, I would love to get some background what you thought when choosing the numbers :)
Very interesting +1
I picked the base number 1.737 (rounded to 1.74) because I like the numbers 17 & 37 and try to use them in all my SCPs. The other 3 numbers are rounded-off multiples of 1.737 (x1, x4, x9, x16). A lot of mystery cults were about that sacred mathematics, bro.
I thought about using the product rather than the sum, and the first few drafts actually DID use it, but I figured that it was too large for what I was going for, which was that the mystery cult was basically using it to sanctify their temple because they were Super Special. It still affected areas above the underground temple (52 m radius is still pretty damn big!), but any larger and they wouldn't have been able to hide it as a cult secret/mystery.

Man, those containment procedures must have decided to stay home when their friends said "Be there or be square."
In all seriousness, this was an amusing take on the classical elements. +1

So, here we have a bunch of things locked away in an ancient Roman tomb, most likely to keep them from getting out. SCP-2766 mentions a position within the Roman government entitled "Superintendent of Secrets," a sort of one person equivalent of the Foundation's O5s in the Roman empire. Its likely such an individual would have something to do with locking away the various shapes of SCP-2837. As such, I am recommending the following edits:
Changing this:
SCP-2837 was discovered in 1847 within a sealed, underground Roman tomb located in present-day Turkey by The Royal Society for the Study of Curiosities and Peculiarities, a Foundation precursor. The tomb has since been destroyed by regional conflicts, but etchings and drawings made at the time of discovery indicate that the entry door and interior of the tomb were covered in bas-relief carvings and frescos depicting a previously unknown mystery cult devoted to the Roman god Orcus. Several of the drawings indicate that the cultists considered SCP-2837 to be a gift from Orcus, intended to purify the world in preparation for his return to the surface world.

Notes from the archaeologists responsible for the finding indicate the tomb was sealed by order of an official entitled the "Curator Arcanorum", or Superintendent of Secrets.
