Thanks to my critters: floorboards, grigori, harry blank, Maddy l, rak, and dodo

The image was own work taken by Maddy L, the original author of 1392, who graciously allowed me to use it for the rewrite.

I thought the bones of the original 1392 were perfectly fine. The base anomaly was cool, and while the original addenda were good as jumping off points for roleplay, I decided to give them a more research oriented direction for the rewrite which follows the different standards of the modern wiki.

Like I said during critique, this is such a cool jump into the universe. One of the most immersive “e-mail SCPs” I’ve ever read.

Much of the dialogue exists just to exposit existing lore, which makes it feel worse that the ending of the article hinges on all that exposition being a red herring. I’m a fan of articles where the foundation desecrates the laws of man and nature for their own benefit but the payoff here is an unsatisfactory one for the unrelated exposition preceding it.

Though I do partially agree with ARD that some of the exposition could be cut, I don't think it really significantly detracts from the meat of the article. The email exchanges are still a well-executed way to carry the narrative, and the usage of other characters is very seemless and a good way to introduce different voices into the story. So yeah, overall it's cool.
