In the event of SCP-2493-2 becoming punctured, it and SCP-2493-1 are to be immediately jettisoned from the facility.

Again, this is not necessary as the chamber is filled with normal helium. The facility will be destroyed before anyone can notice the guy's suit developing a hole and jettison him from the facility. Helium may be largely chemically inert, but matter-antimatter interaction is not a chemical interaction.

Again, keeping him in a vacuum and chilling interior walls to 0k (or as close as possible) should keep anything inside the suit inert long enough for the whole block to be jettisoned. Hell, just keeping him in a vacuum would be good enough if there's concern that his suit can't keep him warm.

Antimatter leaving his suit from his atmosphere leaking is a problem, even in a vaccuum environment. Even a liter of anti-air would be the equivalent of 554 tons of TNT.

Yeah, but a vacuum means that there's actually time to respond and jettison the unit. Currently, if the suit tears, the whole thing goes into an apocalyptic explosion faster than you can even think about saying "oh, shit". A vacuum might not leave enough time for a human to respond, but an automated system could certainly respond the moment it detects a gas or matter-antimatter interactions.

So there's a leak in the suit, high pressure air (I'm not sure if the life support gear on the other side would adjust the pressure down in vaccuum or not; so let's say between 20-100 kPa), the chamber starts filling with anti-air, sensors detect the first interactions with the vessel walls, and automatically launches the chamber. The chamber starts accelerating at greater than 1.62 m/s², pushing the floor of the chamber into the molecules of anti-air gases, and into the suit, including into the stream of venting atmosphere. Isn't that really bad?

Less bad than letting the whole thing sit there (there will likely be shrapnel at some point if it simply sits there, and that can penetrate the suit, leading to guy-parts hitting the walls, leading to… well, you get the point). After all, the guy is sitting/standing on the floor, and he'll continue the trajectory after the floor is gone.

It's the difference of loosing a part of the facility or the whole damn thing.

Of course, an even better idea is to stick him in a room that's far enough away not to effect the rest of the facility. Probably connected via a high-speed light rail. That way there, no need to worry if his suit ruptures.

A trajectory that will take him back to the lunar surface unless he reaches 2.38 km/s before it blows up. Of course that part of the lunar surface might be far enough away.

Yeah, that's a better plan.

ETA: He really would be better off if the home office sent him some duct tape made of buffer.

The suit does not have insulating properties, which is why I did not implement the 0 K aspect. In regards to keeping him in a vacuum, that would also have caused issues due to the pressure of anti air within his suit - in a vacuum the suit would have expanded drastically, and may have been at risk of bursting. Likewise, at the time when the containment procedures were in effect, it would have caused -1 severe discomfort, which is the opposite of what the Foundation's intentions were at the time.

Nonetheless, the mentioned containment procedures are no longer used, as shown with the note shown in the collapsible name (when opened). He is now kept within his own specially-made room. I will be updating that the room is a notable distance from Area-32 though. Do you have any suggestions for a reasonable distance to place it at?

95 kg is a 4081 Mt equivalent. I am having trouble finding a calculator that gives me a blast radius for an explosion that big though.

ETA, okay I found one. It looks like you have shock damage out to 60 km in a vaccuum, and need 5mm of aluminum armor to stop the gamma at 100km.

Might be too late to say this but a suit like that probably has multiple layers of insulation, just in case. Maybe it has warning systems for single-layer breaks, such as radiation releases.
Probably only an internal warning light or alarm, though, since anti-world wouldn't believe sentient contact to be likely. Also whatever punctures the first layer can probably puncture a second identical layer.
It's probably not a perfect fix to the sense of the plan.

I remember this one! Things seem to have gotten a lot more dire. I love that last addendum, but large portions of the first feel explainy and overall redundant alongside the interview. Still worth an upvote; hoping it sticks this time!

This would also be one of my only complaints about the article too. It could be cut down a fair degree to keep the most pertinent info the reader needs about 2493.

I recall this as well; unfortunately, I feel this version is worse. It doesn't add much that's interesting (I won't go into more detail because I already did in previous iterations of this), but also adds a lot of detail which doesn't add anything to the story, just the reading length.
