This started with just three letters, as a gift to ChrisAKAPiefish for the Holiday Gift Exchange. Chris liked it and encouraged me to publish it as my own tale. THANK YOU CHRIS!

My most fervent thanks go to Hercules Rockefeller, Psul, Petrograd and Proxymoron for their help with the draft in the forum. Special thanks to Psul for the unicorn idea, and Herc for Letter VI.

I enjoyed this in drafts, and still enjoy it :)

As far as the ending, I'm generally not fan of the bolded letter technique, but the sentiment was neat.

The idea came to me fully formed when I decided to bold 'believe' for emphasis. I just went 'Oh. What if……………' and started hunting letters. It was fun!

Took me a while to parse out the seemingly-random bolded letters in the final letter (mostly because I kept missing letters):

I feel like this is just lolFoundation. "Oh ho, 343 is a knockoff God!" and so forth. I'll admit, I liked the continuation of the letter from 2699, but as this goes on, it just gets more and more convoluted and ridiculous.

Mmmh.

This begs the question: what is the difference between 'LOLFoundation' (argh, buergh, not good) and 'writing a funny SCP/tale' (which is good, right?)?

I do tend to consider this tale convoluted, when I compare it to what it was at the start. But I did try to make it good-convoluted, not bad-convoluted! ;>

I don't know, I think it works. 343 was always a better character than he is an SCP article; I don't think I've seen a bad tale with him in it yet.

I think 343 works fine here; he's not being used as a Mary Sue or a Deus Ex Machina. All he does is exercise free will.

Mmh.
As soon as I read SCP-2699 (with Holiday Gift in mind), I thought about continuing on letters and involving 343. How could I not? I must say that if I'd known in advance I would submit this to the site, I'd probably have thought twice about it.
Then, as I was developing the tale to post it, I just liked the contrast between one god who acts as a CEO (and a wrathful one…), and another god who plays with a raptor and compares whisky brands.
Can the above be considered as extenuating circumstances? ;>
