Any further questions should be sent to me via PM.
- Added links to the goi-format tag and GoI Contest hub in the rules.
- Clarified that you can have at least five (but more than five) articles posted. However, the team can only have three to four people.
- Created the "Questions I Have Been Sent That Are Good Questions™" section.
- To clarify, if you have questions not pertaining to the rules currently on the page, PM me on IRC or on-site. If you have questions pertaining to rules already on the page, post them here.
- Added a few more questions.
- Shifted the first two deadlines. Teams should be roughly formed a couple days earlier now, and posting starts a day earlier now (which is when the final team deadline is). This is done to compensate for a shift in my personal schedule, and to give people another day for posting entries.
I clarified the answer to this question, because I got it a few times:
Would it strictly have to be a Foundation MTF?
Basically, you need to write about a Foundation task force, but Joint Task Forces can be okay. For more elaboration, please see the answer to that question
I got a few questions about this so I added it to the main page, but basically:
You cannot make a hub for your MTF during the contest. If you really want to make a hub for them, wait until the contest is over and the winners are announced. Then feel free to put one up if you wish and you have the content for it.
Updated the answers to the following questions:
What if I want to change something about a GOI format? Or what if a GOI format isn't working for me?
Can we make hubs for our MTFs during the contest, similar to how teams could make hubs for their GoIs during that contest?
Posting period approaches ever closer! I'll update the hub to edit in this question I've gotten a lot, but for now:
Yes, your Recovery Document/After-Action Report can be in whatever style or format you need it to be in.
Also, because posting period is getting closer:
When posting period starts, teams will be locked in place. All team members must post at least one article. Otherwise, the team will be disqualified.
Added two new question rules:
Q: Does the Recovery Document/After Action Report need to be a supplement? Can't it stand on its own? We can't think of anything to supplement it to.
and:
Q: Do translations count as SCPs for the requirement?
In addition, the rules have been collapsed in order to allow easier and more immediate access to both the deadlines and the entries.
Deadlines have also been pushed up by two days! This now gives three full weeks of posting instead of 19 days. The amount of time to vote on these articles will remain the same.
If you wish to judge and are not a participant, please send TroyL a Wikidot PM.
All 18 team captains were PM'd asking if their team either needed a deadline extension or would benefit from one. There were 16 replies, and 13 of those replies were "yes" to either question. So even if the other two captains get back to me and say no (but please still get back to me regardless; the feedback is still appreciated), I think it's clear there needs to be an extension.
This will be the final deadline extension, as contest posting is extended by another five days. Please check the hub for when the contest ends in your local timezone. I apologize for the inconvenience in lack of preparation time. I thought it would have been enough but it's clear that wasn't the case.
New contest! Neato.
I'm not particularly interested in captaining a team right now, but I'm willing to join any team that'll have me. I'd be interested in writing either a tale or a GOI document (specifically an AWCY? document) to contribute to any interesting concept that someone out there might have.
I'm in. Looking to Captain, so if you're interested, let me know…
Edit: date code isn't showing up for me on Firefox Mobile by the way.
Just for posterity, this team is formed and consists of Famine, Crayne, Freud, and Soulless. The MTF designation we'll be using is Omicron Rho.
I'm also in.
We're looking for a 4th member for our crew, preferably someone who is newer/not staff and interested in working with us.
Living the dream, or dreaming the life?
I am interested in participating.
Ooh - first team contest since I joined the site! I would be happy to be involved (read: pick me, pick me), although I am away from 8-15 Feb, so I won't be able to post my contribution until a little later in the contest period (with the attendant disadvantages) and I shouldn't be a captain.
Thanks for setting this up, Deci and Troy! Looking forward to it!
You got my message, psul. We're in the team together.
Hint for everyone else: it'll be independent, but work well with On Mount Golgotha.
Smapti has also kindly agreed to join this merry band - yay, thanks Smapti!
Smapti, WJS, I have set up a sandbox on which we can collaborate, in case that's useful. For anyone else, there's nothing there to see (like, literally).
If anyone else would like to join the team (or be captain, perhaps) let us know here or by PM.
I'm in. I could probably captain a team if needed, but would prefer to defer to a more experienced member.
Qualifications:
- Seven positively rated SCP articles and one tale (and no deleted articles other than a self deleted supplement page that got folded back into the main article).
- I have created four original MTFs any of which are good to go for expansion in this project.
- An OIF combat veteran with eight years experience in infantry operations, as a squad leader and mortar FDC chief. I've contributed to debriefings and AARs in the real world.
Count me in. Unsurprisingly, I'm looking to be on the/a team using PL for their GOI format.
Edit: ARD has already agreed to be on a team for a PL related MTF, and we've got some ideas already for stuff to do. If you're interested, hit me up with a PM. Team is full.
Edit 2, Update Boogaloo: Qualifications wise, I have 3 SCPs, one of which is rated over 100, 1 tale, and 2 PL GOI formats, both rated over 50. In real life, I'm currently working on my physics major, am a member of a research team studying silicon nanobonding, and helped coauthor 2 papers presented at APS 4CS last year.
HEYYYYYYYYYYYY look at this!
I've been more or less MIA the past week because of illness (losing your voice and having to cough/blow nose every five minutes is NOT FUN) but I'd be interested in joining.
Not looking to captain a team, but I'd like to write a Serpent's Hand GOI entry.
Hey all!
MTFs had greatly interested me from day one of learning about the site, and I would love to contribute to the creation of one and some tales and logs! Not very experienced (still working on my first REAL entry here, so not looking to captain for sure) but, I am an accomplished writer looking to help out whoever needs it.
Hit me up with a PM!
My PM is being funny rn but would you be interested in joining my team?
I'm also looking to try out in the contest. Feel free to PM if you want me to join!
Sorry folks, a team has been formed! We can't accept any more members.
I'm in the game with GreenWolf right now, looking for others who are interested in anything Prometheus Labs related. We've got lots of ideas kicking around, so contact either me or GreenWolf if you're interested. I'm ready to captain the team if need be.
I captained the Prometheus Labs team for the 2014 GOI Contest, and single-handedly created the PL format and hub used today, so I have experience in organizing and leading a team project for the wiki. I also have 10 SCPs and 10 tales to my name, as well as being on the Forum Criticism Team.
I too shall herald in an age of gods and monsters!
As well, I am interested in participating on the Prometheus Lab MTF team!
I'm in.
Credentials: Either 10 or 11 SCP articles depending on how you count them. 9 tales. 1 GOI file, 3 Nexuses, and a miscellaneous article. Have been on the site for over a year.
Contest related stuff: I've got an idea for a MTF, and can give you more info in a PM if you would like. Currently thinking about the possibility of doing this with exploration, slice of life, and serpent's hand articles. I'm not sure if I want to captain or not, but I can either take up the mantle or give it to someone else depending on how all the needs work out. I'm still open to hearing other team's ideas or requests to join a team.
