Hey everyone! Posting again so soon with the help of Greyve! Niles showed me this really cool short film which just inspired me and gave me the idea. Greyve reviewed my draft and helped me really fix it up, along with getting many wonderful critters! I did the art for Vega, glad I was able to include my art in an article! I also have some doodles of Vega I’ll link below ^^ It was a blast to work with Greyve again, here’s to next time!

Guess who’s back?

Another accidental collab with the marvelous Mew-ltiverse, the original draft was, once again, entirely Mew’s; I just hijacked the draft during critique. Mew, being the incredibly generous person that they are, extended a coauthorship, and here we are.

Obviously, I couldn’t have done this without them. As my first article after a two year hiatus, I don’t think I could’ve convinced myself to write again without Mew as a coauthor or friend. Additionally, I want to express my gratitude for everyone I’ve had the pleasure of chatting with in IRC or Discord, and especially all the critters that helped with this article. I would not be an author at all without this community, and I cannot express how excited I am to finally start contributing again.

Spooky and abstract. I did notice a tiny spacing error in Test 7504-16 that you may have missed:

Test Factors: D-9002was administered stimulants and instructed to view SCP-7504.

Other than that, this is an excellent collab piece!

Amazing. I love the eerie atmosphere created throughout. I'm still not entirely sure I know exactly what's going on (though I have a pretty good idea), but it's still pretty horrifying (in a good way). The art adds a lot to the vibe as well. +1, good to see you two post again :)

A wonderful work with a charming character, I upvoted without hesitation. Poor Vega…

That being said, I have noticed that there are variations in terminology in the test logs (Duration/Slept at, Procedure/Test Factors). I would suggest unifying them.

As a 90's kid, that image, with the color bleed and the VHS distortion is a blast of nostalgia.

Anyway, I don't quite get what's happening, I have to admit. I can see hints in there, but I can't quite put them together.

Anyway, there are some weird things going on in the article. Like, I'm guessing the last digit of the test indicates which test we're at. I don't understand why it starts at 2, that really looks like it's the first test.

Test 3 ends at 2 minutes. Test 12 starts at 1:01 and clearly diverges from test 3. However, they only seem to notice that the content diverges between playbacks after test 16?

Test 12 ends at 4:27, test 16 starts at 4:27. Am I to understand that none of the tests in-between went past 4:27?

Test 16: D-9002. All the other D classes have 5 digits, all of which start with a 0 (e.g. D-09007).

Maybe this is one of the clues that should be helping me figure out what's happening, but what's up with Vinidra? She doesn't seem to ever fall asleep on the video, yet the video stops when the D class falls asleep. Shouldn't Vinidra still being awake keep the video going?

Very nice artwork to go with this piece! The piece itself I wasn't too fond of, I think I've seen slow degradation of a piece of media too many times. For what it is, I don't think it does anything specifically wrong. I will say that it doesn't go as horrific as these types of things usually do, and… from my position of being a long-time SCP reader, that's in a way refreshing? I certainly didn't expect it. That said, I don't know if it does this any favors. I feel like, by the midway point, it's pretty clear where this is going, and if anything, Vega actually handles sleep deprivation and dissociating pretty well. (Also, in a way, refreshing.) Like, the ending is surprising by being milder than what I expected to happen at the outset.

In any case, it's a novote from me. Cute — and not in a "oh that's so quaint," demeaning kind of way — but not very remarkable.
