Page Type: SCP Article

Elevator Pitch: A severed hand made of jade. When under artificial light, it gains mobility on its fingers and it moves to puncture the aorta of nearby victims, injecting them with liquid jade, causing mutations.

Central Narrative: The writing will be that of a standard SCP object article, detailing the specifics and containment procedures of the object. Mutations caused by the Hand vary in stages which will be detailed as well.

Hook/Attention-Grabber (Optional): Plays on the idea of creating an artificial, but superior species of humans.

Additional Notes: This article will introduce my anomalous researcher character who will also be a victim of the Hand but will show mutations different from the rest of the victims and subjects. Please do advise me on how I should be going on about this.

Hey!

This concept is a bit underdeveloped at this stage. You've got an object that tries to kill people, which is a little cliche. Generally, objects like this are difficult to execute well, just because there are so many. That doesn't mean it's impossible, just be aware that you're setting yourself up for a more difficult path to success. You'll have to set your article apart in other ways.

You've outlined your object well, but I don't have a sense of the story you plan to tell in your article. Apart from the hand trying to kill people, what happens in this article? You mention a researcher character. How do you plan to integrate him into the story? What makes him different from the other victims? Has he done something wrong, and is being punished by the hand?

I understand that I took out “narrative” from Central Narrative. My bad.

Thanks as well for linking that article, it did give me some good insight.
I actually did in fact create this anomaly based on my character, Dr.Hirose, and not the other way around.
My problem is, while I have a good idea of what my anomaly is, I don’t have a strong idea of what I want my story to be. I do have a vague idea but I’m not sure how to go about it.
I’m also not aware of the ways I can incorporate a story into a standard SCP article.
One way i can think of is by writing an interview log.

I’m sorry if I sound like I’m missing my basics, that’s just because I’m fairly new to this and will need a lot of guidance; every bit anyone has to offer.

Out of curiosity, I’d like to know if there is a specific platform where I can brainstorm with more experienced readers and writers to better understand how to create a good story and how to go about writing it.
