Elevator Pitch: In 1999, a spacecraft appears out of thin air above the Atlantic Ocean, which is revealed to be a foundation mission launched in 2106 as a test-flight for faster-than-light travel. Something happened during the flight to send it back in time over a century, but the reason for this is not what the foundation expected.
Central Narrative: The foundation receive a signal from Luka Petrov, a 22nd century foundation agent asking to contact a site which hasn't been built yet, after landing the ship he is detained for questioning, and the interview logs help the foundation piece together what is going on. Petrov himself seems young and underqualified for the mission, and his superiors have been lying to him about their true intentions for the mission.
