Looking for crit on what I'm hoping to be my fourth article.

It's fairly short, around 1900 words long, and was written in a little over three hours. Contains a group and a character unique to one of my other articles, as a warning, I guess.

I'm more worried about the length, honestly? I'm not sure if there should be more to this or less to it, I think it gets the story through pretty well as is. Also a little iffy on the object class? Wasn't really sure what it should be, still not sure.
