I wrote this while concussed. What a delightful fever dream.
This draft originally started as a collaboration between myself and several people (R4_EX,
LORDXVNV, and
Lamentte). That draft died a very, very hard death but I didn't want to leave the concept of Screamy dead forever. So I took the base concept we had before and reworked it.
I had a lot of fun writing this! My main concept here was how newcomers into an established work environment's thoughts and opinions are often overlooked by those in positions of power over them, even when they legitimately know better or can help improve the work environment. If you pictured Zuri in your head as a young black woman, that was intentional! She is indeed a young black woman.
