Hello everyone. Several days ago I sent djkaktus a message begging him to delete SCP-5004. He never responded so unfortunately I now feel the need to force this issue. I apologize in advance if I hurt your feelings DJK, it is not my intention and never was.

SCP-5004 is a reprehensible article. The United States of America is collapsing into civil war and the country I have known all my life will now inevitably be destroyed, to the point where I've felt the need to become a vehement Californian nationalist and openly advocate for the USA's dissolution. The people depicted in this article have put us through incredible pain.

And worst of all? Ruth Bader Ginsburg, lionized as a hero in this skip. The woman whose selfish, shortsighted decision to stay on the bench cost us the national right to an abortion in America.

djkaktus has the fucking gall to JOKE about this?

IT IS NOT FUNNY ANYMORE.

I'm sorry if I'm coming across as too harsh, but I really feel the need to express how strongly I am morally opposed to SCP-5004's existence.

Please tell me I am not alone in saying this article makes me sick to my stomach.

There's a lot of offensive stuff on the site because offensive is inherently a person-by-person thing; there are articles about political topics, with slurs in them, about Nazis, about basically everything under the sun. It would be an insane overreach for staff to dictate what we should and shouldn't consider offensive and curate the site summarily as if we were a monolith and not a community of literally thousands of individual minds.

This is, fundamentally, the same as that thread the other week saying that the Hand hub should be deleted for Catholicphobia. Something being offensive is not necessarily a basis for deletion.

I know, honestly. I'm not expecting you to delete it. I just want to make it clear how much I look down on djkaktus for allowing it to exist. He doesn't care, because everything is a joke to him, but it needs to be said.

Then this is basically a self-admitted callout post and I'm not sure why you couched it in the rhetoric of a deletion you know isn't possible — it just muddles your point. But even beyond that, making a thread to call someone shitty for writing something shitty is… shitty, even if you're right. Two wrongs and all that.

Y'know, to say the very least to make a point, I am not that fond of the former president. Yet I still love SCP-5004, because it's a well-made article that I found pretty funny. The whole thing's basically a huge shitpost made for the 5k comp, and I think that completely deleting something like that would be a bit excessive. Plus, that calls into question of whether it's a one-off or we're just gonna be deleting anything that references, like, any controversial figure, historical or otherwise.

You haven't actually said what about the article's content is rule-breaking and thus liable for summary deletion.

You're allowed not to like the article, and you're allowed to disagree with its representation of political figures, but unless you can point to how the article violated the wiki's rules, I cannot understand why it would need to be deleted.

The article is a satire of American politics and political figures, in no way is it responsible for the current US political climate nor is it responsible for your assumptions about future events. Finding something disgusting is no rational for its removal.

You are literally demanding an article be deleted because of your political anxiety. I can understand that these concerns must feel pressing and real, but this is a short-format fiction writing site, and to have this extreme of a response may be something to address with an actual support network, rather than random people on the internet.

If you are truly feeling this uncomfortable, it may be time to take some time away from the wiki — there are far more actually harmful things on the internet than fiction that is satirizing mid 2010s politics.

This article makes light of the Trump family and RBG. Both of them have directly and frequently hurt LGBT people. LGBT people are the cornerstone of the SCP community.

Can you at least fucking understand where I'm coming from?

I understand not being in the mood for political parody, but this article isn't any more irreverent than a typical 2000s-era episode of The Daily Show. I also have to question your interpretation on a few points: one, the depiction of RBG here as a cackling, melodramatic sorcerer is far from "lionizing" by any stretch of the imagination; two, if your response to the growing crisis of fascism in America is to genuinely become a "vehement nationalist" of any stripe, I would recommend some serious ideological self-examination before you make any more public statements about other people's morality.

This is not the 2000s. We are nearing the end of the United States and very close to a long, painful Civil War. Do you really think the people of Ukraine would find this article funny if it were, say, making light of the Bucha massacre.
