surprise, surprise.

i’ve come a long way since my early days on the site in 2020, and its about damn time i finally post my first ever scp. only took me 2 years but now its here and ready for action.

i wanna thank NDHeckfire, SYTYCFanon, Mooagain , and anybody else who looked at this article for me. you are truly amazing.

This starts out strong to me, a lot of Syncope Symphony/Class of 76 vibes, takes a bit of a left turn, which is great, I'm invested… but then it just bogs down with a lot of very on the nose exposition and seems to tread water for a good while before ending as a very bland "victim rescued from the basement" affair.

It feels like we have 2 different SCPs smashed together here. A really tight, well written idea about a band that can somehow be multiple places at once, and a long meandering story about a drunken serial killer/all around creep who murders women.

I freely admit I'm likely missing something here, but, for me at least, it just kind of falls flat after a really promising start. No vote.

i feel like, in a sense, you've somewhat oversimplified the narrative and the antagonist's premise while also skimming over the significance of certain things in the article, like why this is the way it is or why this does what it does.

in this case, i feel as though you've missed the significance of 7499 acting as a vessel to demonstrate meyers' character and also meyers and 7499's relation.

This is a really hard SCP to vote on. I loved the MTF interaction and the dialogue with Meyers. The logs are definitely the strongest part of this article.

There are, however, a few things that break immersion. For one, the SCP itself is not particularly clear and (to paraphraseSergeimosin's point) feels like two SCPs sandwiched together. Also, the task force uses modern radio equipment and night vision in 1943? I would have accepted that and waived it off as the Foundation being more technologically advanced than normal organizations BUT the photo of the task force entering in the last mission really breaks the immersion when you remember this is in the 1940's.

Despite all that, I found this entertaining enough to upvote. I hope you revisit this someday and improve it, or at least note some of the points from the critique outlined here in the discussion thread when you next write for the site.

That was a ride. I have to concur with Sergeimosin and SketchyTh0ughts on the fact that the actual SCP isn't really clear and the technology doesn't line up with the time period, but the characterization in this piece was fantastic. I'd recommend reworking the article a bit keeping that in mind.
