this is a super interesting one!
to sum up, rich guy who could smell stuff's value starts to lose his mind because it smells tasty but he can't eat it. he contacts a wizard so that he can actually eat valuables, like a reasonable person. i don't reeaally understand the noosphere, but i think the wizard brought this guy to the concept of midas and made a deal with it so that this dude could get his wish. he can eat and digest anything as long as it's valuable, and whatever he eats' value gets transferred to his bank account, so he makes money off of it. he pays the wizard's group and eventually mc&d, but ties are cut with them after he tries to make some moves he really shouldn't have. as revenge, he goes to a bunch of mc&d auctions and eats the most valuable stuff, including what i choose to believe isn't 963. mc&d gets pissed, asks the foundation to stomp the guy, and they do by buying the dude's bank and freezing his account. (considering it's in the cayman islands, that's gotta be a lot of money for this one dude…) they work out a deal, dude won't eat stuff without the foundation's say so and he helps fund some of their operations, bada bing bada boom.
the addendums were neat, too! the containment procedures and object class got concerning as i got more and more into the article. "This guy sucks, lock him up!!" and such. but at the end it made sense, considering how this dude's kind of a pain in the butt to lock up and he could potentially make the foundation a lot of cash. if he double crossed mc&d, you have to wonder if he's thinking something up for the foundation, but i doubt it since they've got his account.
the log with darke confronting the guy was kind of nerve wracking, but that's kind of a me problem. darke's just gonna screw over this guy, who turned the dude who screwed him over in the last log into gold by spitting on him? i assume darke's got some sort of protection against that but still, maybe not the smartest move…
overall a very neat article, +1!!
