Who knows what true loneliness is - not the conventional word but the naked terror? To the lonely themselves it wears a mask. The most miserable outcast hugs some memory or some illusion.
- Joseph Conrad
Well, it only took me a year.
I want to thank everyone who has supported my efforts to finish this over the last twelve calendar months. It really shouldn't have taken this long, but I got stuck about midway through and rewrote half of this thing about a dozen times. I sincerely beg your apologies for the delay and pray that you'll forgive my tardiness.
I especially want to thank all of my dedicated patrons on Patreon, who have continued to support me the last CALENDAR YEAR with almost nothing to show for it. Your help has kept me afloat through losing my job, getting a new one, having to buy a new car, and so much more. I'll thank each of you individually when I come back to edit this tomorrow, but for now I hope this humble note of appreciation will suffice.
This isn't the end of this series, not by a long shot. We have stories left to tell - I hope you'll stick around with me to hear them.
Thank you all.
P.S. Also a specific thank you to the DMFS19 discord - your sheer panic gives me life.
