Wait.. is this the Foundation equivalent of giving you a watch when you retire?
I went back three times to figure out what I was missing, before I just let myself ride with the simplicity. I really really like this.
One question: why Thaumiel?
I would like to ask the same as well: Why Thaumiel. Seems like more of a safe to me than Thaumiel.
Those who are already insane cannot percieve other than insanity.
This could be wrong, but after reading the article I figured it was Thaumiel because it was used by the O5 Council while making decisions (whenever they do end up using it at least. Therefore it would, if a bit indirectly, have an impact on the containment of other anomalies.
Really enjoyed the article. +1 from me.
If a majority of The O5 Council agrees to resolve a vote via coinflip, usage of SCP-7000 is explicitly forbidden, and Site-01 custodian Hellenistic.aic is to conduct a virtual coinflip.
Would have made sense for me if it was used, but it was explicitly forbidden.
Those who are already insane cannot percieve other than insanity.
On one hand, it was an amusing read of good length. On the other, I couldn't stop thinking that I would really like to read the addendum as a tale instead.
+1 nonetheless
Heya!
If the anomaly is a gifted coin, and they're not allowed to use it for votes, why is the article later on about a mundane coin used in a vote?
I do rather like the ending, but due to the tonal shift into the history section and then the ending as it is— reading this I felt like the 'anomaly' was the coinflip event. This also would imply that the object class is 'explained'.
Agreed. I was similarly confused by the dissonance between description and history section.
(Although the implication that there are as much 001 proposals as regular SCPs is funny)
Still good ending overall. +1
I am a huge, HUGE fan of this short article. It tells a humorous story in only a few words, and doesn't waste any time.
Very good. +1
novote because there's no explanation of how the nickel has anything to do with SCP-7000, and the researchers in the last paragraph are given access to 7000's file to look into the nickel. also, it says that the vote passed 5-7 when normally that would be a losing vote (YEA votes come first)
Same. -1. If we found out the coin flip had been influenced by 2 different reality-benders whose coin-flip-influencing abilities were punished by giving them to the database, that would have been fine.
What do you mean by "influenced by 2 different reality-benders whose coin-flip-influencing abilities were punished by giving them to the database"?
