This is my first skip in a while. First I wasn’t sure if I even wanted to do 7kcon. For those that know me, I’ve always been a heavy drinker and I took July as a challenge to do “Dry July”. Then the contest came, so I thought why not tackle two extremely hard challenges on top of each other. To echo the core of this piece, if I could be sober, I could do anything. Including write for a K-con again.
The angle of “Luck” proved to be a hard idea to incorporate, but when I put the theme into the context of my own life, I really realized how lucky I was to be here and how many things I barely survived because of drinking. What followed started off as a fun Alcoholic Reality Bender scip, soon evolved into one of my most intimate writings I’ve ever done. Most of what is contained in the story is semi-autobiographical stories from a wild past and hopefully a better future.
Although I know OP humanoids are a dime a dozen here on the wiki, I hope I provided a fresh, engaging, thoughtful look into my personal struggles and demons. I’m unsure if I will stay the current course of maintaining sobriety, but I know that writing this article was extremely cathartic and needed.
If any substantial spelling, punctuation, grammar, or formatting mistakes stand out to you, please feel free to message me on Wikidot PM. I wrote this 13k juggernaut in about a week and a half, and it might need some love before the Posting Period ends.
