I like the idea, but I already wrote a highly variable child's toy that possesses sentience, SCP-705
Perhaps they can battle each other for dominance? =P

This one has an air of unpredictability and danger to it that yours lacks, Dr. Kondraki. SCP-705 is more adorable than much else; this is vaguely sinister. I see no reason why they can't coexist.
Danger? I didn't pick up on that. Unless you mean the danger of stepping on Legos while barefoot, which can really hurt.
The impression I got from this article was that, while the Lego constructs do animate, they're still just Legos. That's no more sinister than the sentient Play-Doh - possibly less sinister, since these aren't automatically militaristic.
I think the two should both be allowed to coexist - their interactions would be hilarious to watch. :)
There's the matter of exactly how those children figured out how to build an M1 Abrams out of Lego, for one thing. Second, you can talk to the Play-Doh. This Lego silently goes about its business. Both toys carry a mysterious knowledge of the world, ad well as an unexplained source of energy, but the Lego is unpredictable. The army men will always run around and be soldiers, and despite their impressive organization, they'll only ever shoot at you with Play-Doh guns. The Lego… well, it may one day make decisions of its own, and as a group, not amongst itself.
How do you build an M-1 Abrams tank out of Legos? The same way you build a car or a plane or a truck out of Legos - you dig around for pieces, try different combinations until you get something with the right shape, and find some tread pieces (which probably exist). And it's really not that uncommon for kids to be interested in military stuff, so there's nothing odd about some of them knowing what an Abrams is shaped like.
I'm just not creeped out by this any more than by the Play-Doh.
the legos are not unpredictable, just complex. They emulate modern civilization. with enough space they would probably make technological discoveries of there own, develop religions and seperate into nations states. this would take time though.
Not all that creepy, but cool nonetheless. At same point, there is likely to be a Tale from the bright Side about an epic war between legos and playdough.
Admin, SCP Wiki
Someone do that please or else I'll try to do it and it will probably end up cringy as heck.
Thanks for your comments, guys.
I did write this with keeping it different to 705 in mind and if there is anything you can suggest that would help that, please, feel free to do so.
I wonder what their reaction to putting Megablocks (or some other copy of Lego) next to it would be…
Apparently hilarious. I also suggest that we test with regular Play-Doh before we test with SCP-705. How does it react to Play-Doh by itself? Besides, there's always the possibility of them just ignoring each other, so… I dunno. I hope they don't though.
SCP-705 would likely interact with the Lego. I doubt that they'd care for normal Playdoh. I'll write out further experiments later.
we shoudl introduce some star wars or harry potter legos and see what happens. perhaps a lego SCP-682.
Are you really, REALLY sure about that last one? We had enough trouble with that baloon animal 682.
If you added Star Wars Legos, that could be a bit dangerous. We don't want 4-cm, lightsaber-wielding minifigs running rampant around the Foundation, do we? (Though a Lego podrace using custom racer designs… that would be brilliant.)
Lego SCP-682… I just had an idea for another thing that Dr. Bright shouldn't do at the Foundation.
actually wouldnt be as deadly as you would think cuz they seem to behave when there is people around
non people things, not so much
I want these Legos, they would make Ninjago more interesting
I wonder what would happen if you started a small community, locked it in a concrete room, and left it alone for a few years?
Oh god, I wish this was real. I would set up an rpg with it and…
…Hell, I would probably be banned from being near this SCP due to ignoring basic bodily needs
Seconded.
Anyone trid to introduce a Bionicle set or something similar?
On similar terms to the bionicle proposal, why not try seeing what would happen if things such as the mindstorms NXT sets with the electronics and such, also, I do know that you can plug the main piece into a pc, and is also able to use Bluetooth in ways, I also slightly wonder what would happen if introduced to things like duplo, legos line of building blocks made for toddlers but with larger blocks, there's also the extremely large blocks for very little kids but I wouldn't recommend going there
I must note a discrepancy here: The blocks are repeatedly referred to as Lego despite a specific mention of no branding being available, either they're Lego or they're not.
It is worth noting that "lego" much like "band-aid", began life as a brand name, but is now a colloquial term for any similar item. However, it would aid the clinical tone (SCPs are supposed to be clinically toned right?) to be consistent in this manner and avoid colloquial language use.
Also, Experiment 387-b:…The children, who had their memories of this experiment removed,… could be edited to provide a more clinical tone by mentioning the memory wipe at the end of the paragraph. Could also tie it into the existing foundation canon/lore by "issuing class … amnesiacs".
Well, what the bloody devil did you expect, placing Megablocks within a 50-foot proximity of Lego? Trying to successfully integrate the two together—much less in a successfully manner, is like trying to interfere with SCP-225: it cannot be done.
Yeah, the MegaBlocks bit was the reason I upvoted, I wanted to die laughing.
Though the really big megablocks can sorta click onto a sheet made of legos if you try hard enough. But who cares, because screw MegaBlocks.
Absolutely agree. I already wanted to upvote, but the Mega Blocks part connected with me on a deep, personal level. I freaking love these Legos now.
God bless you, author.
