This is an article I've been wanting to write for a while but was always nervous about how it might be received. After a lot of support from IRC, I decided to give it a shot. Hopefully it doesn't seem like it's trying to ride any coattails. I've always thought that the way humanoids were treated in most canon was unnecessarily cruel, and while I get that's pretty much the point of a lot of articles, I felt that lighter perspectives weren't explored as much. Additionally, I think that there is a lot of potential in letting SCPs interact with one another as well as staff, which often goes untapped due to the (often justified) negative perception people have of crosslinking and the like.
I wanted to make a canon to act as a space for things like that. I hope it's not too presumptuous of me, but I would like this to act as a jumping-off point for a canon, pending a good reception of this article. If anything I mentioned above piques your interest as a writer, feel free to reach out or write something relating to it. It doesn't have to follow a super stringent timeline or anything.
I want to thank Marcelles_Raynes does not match any existing user name and NDHeckfire for encouraging me to give this a shot and looking at the draft as I was working on it. As for the other critters, I want to thank
