What if someone were to inhale some of this stuff?
What if we filled a balloon with this stuff, and ran it through 914 on "very fine"?
The effects of inhaling the gas are noted. It fills your airways, thus suffocating you.
Also, there's kind of a hint about that. Y'know that balloon-animal 682?
That was what I was kind of getting at. The foundation'd have an animated enhanced balloon-animal 682 on their hands. I don't know what they'd do with it, but I'm sure it would provide lots of opportunity to gather useful data.
Or they could put it in a cage match with the original, and bet on how long it would take for the balloon to be defeated.
Its short and somewhat uninteresting, maybe some disturbing test long would make it better.
Not everything needs to be tested. What would the Foundation do with this? "Yup. Still kills people."
I don't understand why people have upvoted this.
Yeah, I'm sorry, but this one is weak. Helium is too light for Earth's gravity to hold it down; it just goes up and escapes. Make it Sulfur Hexafluoride and I might buy it.
I do like the mental imagery of balloons attempting to assault someone, but outside of that this article seems… Lacking.
The concept could be interesting I suppose, but it would need to be expanded upon.
I personally like it, it feels like one of those cases you'd see in a real Foundation, where something is just far enough past the AI line to warrant SCP classification. It's a well-written article.
This is great. I especially like the note at the end - simple, to-the-point, silly and scary all at the same time.
Wow. This hasn't aged very well, with its bad tone, lolfoundation, and boring concept. The balloon animals have potential, but for now it's a downvote.
What about this is lolfoundation? The last note isn't in very clinical tone, but that's because it's a note, not a polished document.
I sort of thought the last addendum was ignorant of personnel. Wouldn't they have done a full inspection of these to know that they all have the same anomalous effect?
Perhaps, but there's a difference between the Foundation making a mistake and lolfoundation. A lolfoundation addendum for this would be something like
Personnel are reminded that even small amounts of SCP-681 can be deadly. Survivors of attempted voice-modification pranks with SCP-681 will be reassigned to Keter duty, assuming there are any.

True. I guess I see lolfoundation as the Foundation showing a little less than a clumsy mistake, though what you wrote is the most accurate example.
