As of now, a good chunk of the SCP concepts in Ideas and Discussions never come to fruition, and in all my time critiquing, I've seen a lot of good ideas end up not being published since the writer scraps the idea or doesn't have time to work on it. I myself have been in that position, and probably have some ideas that I likely won't have time to finish- but would still love to see become SCPs.
That's why I'm proposing the creation of a trash to treasure bin: a thread where links to unfinished concepts can be posted. To prevent spam on said thread, a concept would need to have had at least one greenlight to be posted, and the author posting it shouldn't have plans of finishing the concept anytime soon.
Once the thread is posted, it enters a public domain of sorts, where anyone can write about it, including the author if they change their mind about the concept. Of course, writers will still need to repost the idea in ideas and suggestions, especially if they've made any updates or changes to the concept.
I'd like to stress that this would be *voluntary* for everyone involved. Authors don't have to share concepts if they don't want too, and concept creators don't have to use the ideas thread if they want to make their own concept. It'll just be an open resource for anyone experiencing writers block, and a pet shelter for abandoned SCP ideas looking for a new home.
I'm open, of course, to debating this idea and it's usefulness and plausibility!
