Okay! It's time for more Department of Other! We just can't help but crank out these things, and with some extra time in the contest, we figured we should make some extra stuff!

This piece contains a bit of setup for our finale, but the important thing is that we really wanted to play on the joke of the first SCP for the DoO being titled "This Should Be A -J".

Thanks to Meserach for crit, and huger thanks to my co-author Rimple!

Edit: Fun fact: Army of Monsters is the name of a fully-playable card game I made for a college class once!

If I'm being honest, this isn't really that funny when it comes to being a -J, and might even have worked better as a mainlist. Well, at least you acknowledge that through the title. +1

I find myself inexplicably charmed by this. I'm willing to suspend my expectations for a -J and just vibe with it, and I'm glad I did here. +1

I actually can't agree with the feedback that this lacks the usual humor of a -J. Humor is subjective and all, but you clearly set up several jokes here with punchlines and see them through. This definitely fits a -J in that regard.

Beyond that it's just charming and cute. You write James fairly believably which is always a challenge, and the basic concept of this article is wonderfully goofy. I enjoyed it.

though researcher james is written well here, the jokes didn't really land for me, and i don't really see how this would have worked as a mainlister, unless you were being facetious with the title. i dunno, i judge -J's on 'did i laugh' and i didn't here.

This game me PTSD flashbacks of the days when Yu-gi-oh was new and how my school principle had a collection of confiscated cards.

That alone makes this a +1.
