The shock of this department's responsibilities has largely worn off since I read the first of your articles. This one felt maybe a little less tense, a little more rote, given it's essentially a back-and-forth without much variation in style. I can see that being intentional, the casual manipulation of this family's lives being so commonplace, but while I can recognise that intellectually it doesn't change the fact this one felt a little flatter.
Despite that, this still felt like a very strong study of that department's methods and motivations, and you did a good job garnering sympathy for the Rodriguez, the spouse, and the child. The methods employed are really shocking, but it's clear none of them come from cruelty alone. I look forward to your team's next entry!
