[Discussion] Contest Archive Update

The Contest Archive is serviceable, but meh. This is a call to update it.

http://mast-nav.wikidot.com/contest-archive - Proposed new Archive page.

Concerns

• Adding short blurbs/contest descriptions to each entry.
• Adding unofficial contests, if they were primarily hosted on the -EN wiki, and have an associated tag,
• InternationalGoI-2019 is footnoted, as it has a tag, but not a primarily -EN-hosted contest.

The discussion will last for 7 days, after which the described changes (and further reasonable proposals) will be implemented unless serious concerns are raised. In the event of split opinions, a vote will be held to decide the outcome.

Timer expired. Changes implemented.

All I really want to say here is that I believe the unofficial contests should be added to the contest archive. It makes sense to have all contests on the page, and I think MemeCon 2021 and NIGHTMAREFEST are worth adding. Archive means to preserve historical documents, and I'd consider those unofficial contests worthy of archiving. I don't see why not.

Also, personally I prefer the newer contest archive, especially with the page style. I like that sort of thing.

I really like this proposal.

One small quibble though:

The contest for the coveted SCP-3000 spot, and entries in the SCP Wiki's favorite genre: horror!

I'm particularly biased on this blurb because, even though I'm a big fan of the SCP Wiki, I never considered myself an actual fan of horror in general (What I enjoy the most are the sci-fi/fantasy/character-driven stories on the Wiki).

This kind of based blurb, at least to me, makes me feel a little left out (and potentially others who enjoy SCP content with similar preferences to mine). I also feel its a little against the spirit of the optimization of the variety of content that the wiki has been building through the last decade.

I would suggest to change the blurb to:

The contest for the coveted SCP-3000 spot, and entries in the SCP Wiki's most renowed genre: horror!

I feel this is more accurate to the reality, it tells about the importance of horror content on the wiki and it's general reception, withouth undermining other type of content.

EDIT: I also noticed that the 2014 Dystopia contest is missing, afaik it's an official contest and it has a tag.

Big support for revamping the page. I hope the same treatment will go to the contest hubs themselves, as some of the older ones are atrocious
