This is the tale that I did for the wonderful HammerMaiden in last month's art exchange. She asked for a tale about Thaddeus Xyank and/or Delta-T, and I was more than happy to oblige — especially since it offered me a way to work Xyank (or a version of him) into Third Law. I had a ton of fun writing this tale, and I'm very pleased at how it ended up coming together.
If you have no idea what's going on, the Delta-T tale "Exit History" (which is also crosslinked in the text) gives a much better explanation (with diagrams!) of what causal isolation is and how it works than I ever could.
I wanted to wait a bit before posting this, and then ended up waiting a bit longer than I initially intended. So now I am posting it a month after Christmas, on a day that coincidentally happens to be my birthday. Like Xyank, I am also a time traveler, I just only travel forwards in time at a rate of 1 second every second.
