Aight, so here we are I suppose. Hello! This is my Gift to Immersturm for the 2021 Art Exchange thingy! I was asked to write something about the Scarlet King and, I'll be honest, I knew very little about him. This is my attempt at a skip about the big guy. Hope it's good enough as is.

And… About some parts of the story… Well, it's purposely obfuscated, so lemme explain a couple things here:

• Information on the first third of the skip is both purposely and accidentally inaccurate (In-universe, of course)
• There is infohazardous symptoms not mentioned on the skip that are occurring on the article. Their existence's obvious by the end of it, but still.
• I know very little about Iranian history and culture, hence why this is more North Indian/Pakistani. I need to do my homework if I ever write another piece on the SK, because that side of SK's stuff is really damn good.
• You can take the ending at face value. However, a question: If you read all articles linked, you'll see the seals aren't exactly working as intended/Are soon to break. Why would this one be different?
• On that same page: Due to star movement, the Big Dipper did look akin to a smile maybe 10-20k years ago. In several tens of thousands of years the Big Dipper will not look how it does today, and may not even exist as a constellation.
• The last chant is about India's recent history, if you needed the context. There's obviously a part that is only about SCP stuff, but still.
• I need a 7th point so time to shout out Tufto, who I tried to imitate the style of. I did not get even close, but an attempt was made. Go read the stuff they've written, both about the Scarlet King, and in general. A couple of their articles are crosslinked so you can start there.

Thanks for the prompt btw! It was really fun to write it and, well, I didn't know much about the Scarlet King so I got to read a lot of neat articles~

I really enjoyed this. At first, I was discouraged by the density of lore and history elements, but as I went on, I realised the density was purposeful - things were intentionally unexplained because that was the style. I started to find that it created a tone of mystery and intrigue that continued towards the end of the scip.

And after reading your tufto shoutout, that style makes so much more sense. I can't pretend to know all that much about the lore or the history, but you still managed to make the slow burn interesting in a way that does (upon noticing) remind me of tufto's work. I hope this gets more eyes on it, but for now, +1

Haha, I get that. There's a lot of stuff here that is purposely dense and unexplained. It took me a while to realize 'wait, no one is gonna read this because of it'. I had a true 'The risk was calculated but man am I bad at math' moment.

I'm glad the slow burn was worth it though! And that it did remind you of Tufto. That's honestly the highest compliment I could ever receive, even if it was somewhat forced XD

This is an amazing combination of history, philosophy, mythology and site lore. You did an excellent job of combining the biggest SK articles as well as some non-SK ones into a cohesive framework. This does justice to the idea of SK being one of the biggest threats, without having him be physically present, which is probably the best way to do it.

While the article initially felt a little unbalanced, given that the second addendum dwarfs everything else, by the end this felt completely earned. The second addendum gives the feeling of reading an epic, which feels inevitable given its mythological background, however, the way you lay out the actual journey of reaching the king, as well as the aftermath, is what makes it a genuinely great homage to the genre.

Amazing work; easy +1.
