I still think we should test his commitment to being concrete with a section of rebar and his [DATA EXPUNGED]
I like how the first post on 014’s discussion thread is about how the Foundation should shove a rod of metal up his ass.
Glad to know that people in 2009 were just as out-of-pocket as people nowadays.
If he is turning into a statue, and he can't move, will placing him in front of 173 keep it from moving?
Slightly annoyed by the romanticism of the researcher note, but besides that, this is pretty good. Upvoted.
I don't know, in spite of the rigid professionalism that is Foundation SOP, the hint of romanticism does feel like a slip of the tongue; i.e. that it's the kind of comment a researcher would make in that given circumstance.
I agree. It adds a really strong note of realism to it, in my opinion. Obviously researchers deal with a lot of crazy shit, but this is awfully poignant, even to the point of giving professionalism a little poke in the eye.
It feels incomplete compared to other reports. Has there been any testing of his skin to see if it is truly turning to concrete or has any other biochemical changes? Are his clothes still intact, do his clothes have to be replaced, or is he naked? The researchers seem to have fallen down on the job in SCP-014's case.
Have to agree with the general consensus; the note at the end really brings life to this. It shows genuine curiosity and interest on the part of the researcher, rather than the clinical detachment typical of SCP articles. Maybe it's not exceptionally professional sounding, but in a case like this, how could you not be interested?
Perfect old article, this is how I think a lot of articles should be. I can think of a shitload of new articles that could really, really use a trimming to something around this length.
Also holy shit it's gone up bu 50 votes since I last saw it.
What the fuck
WHEN DID THIS BREAK +73
I mean, I'm not complaining, I've always liked this one, but whaaaaaaaaat?
Only that it's the current article rating, and last I checked this article it was much, much lower. In the 20s or maybe 30s.
Fucking butt ghost is higher than that. It means nothing nowadays.
And now, almost six months later, it's up to +115. This, ladies and gentlemen, is how an article ages gracefully.
